I was just about to pay when i had this problem with the pick up, my

pick up agent says i will need to pay for the pick up before they can

schedule a pick up time, they charged me £120 for pick up and

delivery, and payments for pick up made through them is made to their

corporate international headquarters which is in the Africa and the

payments is made through western union money transfer, i will add the

£120 to the money i will send through pay .pal, as soon as i have made

the payments, i will email you and let you know and please i will need

you to help me send the money to my pick up agent Hq in the Africa

through western union money transfer, this can be done from any post

office ,there is always western union money transfer section in most

post offices(you can do it online as well at www. westernunion.

com)...,

i would have done it myself but we cant bring some of our personal

wenstern union..which you can do in any post office around you....and

on the Receipt given to you after you send the £120 from your pocket

to the pickup agent address..You will the information you have to send

Hi Mark i do understand paypal as i have been using it since it first

started and u run my Biz From it

now ... i sent you an invoice for £175 UK Pounds for the speaker boxes

now you said u will be arranging the collection of these thats ok

I will not be going to weston union and Paying £120 Pounds for the

arrangements of getting them to you

I do not deal with them but more so i will not be Paying upfront for it as

well

Paypal will not Hold any Money from you regardless if you paid more on my

invoice

At that point, it is blatantly a scam. He'll send the first email out in bulk to as many ebayers as his grubby little fingers can type.

 

About 8 yrs ago, I lead one on for weeks, was a hoot! Fake cheque and everything. At the end of it, I spoke to him on the phone (he called me, naturally) and after a goood 10 minutes of wasting his credit, I just laughed at him and told him he had been reverse 419'd. Item was a Fiat Uno Turbo, fake cheque for £3500. Daughter very ill in hospital. How I cried...

When I worked for a bank we had a customer who came in to increase her overdraft and then take out a loan. After some of the right questions she told us that she had won a lottery and was told not to say anything until she had paid all the "fees". It cost her about £5000 before we managed to talk her out of sending them anymore money.

You're very polite and patient. Been scammed (or had attempted scams) in the past. Sometimes it's a laugh to see what they say but sadly some people never cotton on and get done.

 

I once had an email from a guy wanting to buy a £20k car with no negotiation or anything, emailed me a card number for £1000 to reserve and then said would transfer the rest. He was American but said was staying in Australia and wanted the car to travel around Europe ending up in Greece a year later. Had hooky all over it but ran with it as he only wanted to pay us, not the other way round. It turned out to be 100% genuine and one of the nicest guys ever! Got a black cab from Heathrow to me and off he went. Only in Nov just gone he bought it back and we bought it off him with another 15k on the clock! He was a wealthy guy who wanted to tour Europe and not hire cars from place to place.

 

Like said above, run with things a bit as not everyone is a wrongun :taz:

All the time you don't have to pay out yourself then run with it for a bit. See what happens!

The more of their time you waste the less time they have to scam someone else

He's not asked you for any money, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.....most of the story is plausible to some degree.

 

Internet and phones are restricted to some degree offshore, however you can always get access to a phone at some point.
