Hi I'm a new member, I'm 20 years old and looking for my next car. I want a 300zx short wheel base manual turbo or N/A. Got up to £2500 to spend for the right car. Looking for one with good service history, and MOT :) Not too concerned about mileage, but anything high miles must have full history! Mods or no mods, not bothered. Will travel to look at the right car

I'm based in Manchester, PM me or email me at mrtwlsb@aol.com :) Look forward to being a fellow 300zx owner.

I know this car from the start as I went to check it out and pick it up with Tel. A true beauty this car is and mechanically sound I know as I worked on her. I did have his number somewhere or maybe its in the ad but for that money you are not gonna get anything as good a real steal :)

Thanks :) Just had a look now - It looks matt black in the pictures if I'm not mistaken? Very nice! If only it was a short wheel base I'd have come for it tomorrow!

I had a look for that one, I fell in love with it. Shame the member isn't very active and there's no phone number left, I can't tell if it's been sold or not either :(

Hi,

... but...LOL...

mate... £2500 for a shorty.... hens teeth, rocking horse poo... blah.. blah... (although nothing is impossible, just improbable)...

I'd say for that money you'd be better off looking in the forum for sale section and picking up a good LWB... or be prepared to have a long wait.

and you're only going to get it for that price now because people a desperate to sell and the market is a bit dead...

His email is on there ;) I did have Tel's number somewhere around. I believe he is more active on other forums.

I'd sell my NA auto shorty for peanuts and you would have plenty of cash spare to convert it to a manual and do plenty more ;)

Hi, I had a look at a SWB this morning priced at £1000, driveable but needs a bit more work than I'm prepared to do! So they must be out there, I'm 20 years old working minimum wage hence not being able to spend too much. I can hardly control that, I would if i could! lol. I discovered that the insurance for me on one of these is considerably cheap - such nice cars too! I just came here to share love for the same car as the rest of you and thought I could get a bit of help finding one :)

People on here you see they seem to think that when Nissan produced the 300zx sports car they meant to put 4 seats in it when actually it was a designer at Nissan thinking how am I going to own one of these awesome cars and get my wife and 2 kids in it with the weekly shopping? True story ;)

Haha! I do believe that though! They are fantastic cars, but they should have made a few more SWB for my sake to make things easier finding one though!

I wanted one when I was looking but couldn't find one....

aside from that if you're on minimum wage then maybe oner of these isn't the best car to go for... 15 to 20 year old cars tend to need a lot of work and the more complex the more to go wrong..

I'd stay clear of the TT and be prepared to do a lot of work yourself.... at least you might be able to get parts cheaper on the forum... however SWB parts are harder to find and usually go for more money.

Not trying to be pessimistic but I paid nearly £6k for my car and spend over £4k last year on an engine rebuild...

over the last three years I've spent thousands as well... best of luck...

Well the thing is alot of people are hoarding them like me I have 3 ;)

People like you are my worst enemy at the moment then! haha!

swbs are very common in the states as they didn't make lwb twinturbos for their home market. in the uk lwb tt was the only one released so all swb are import, hence the rarity. and at the end of the day its personal preference, if you want a fast road car either is fine if you want a track car a slicktop or at least a swb are pretty much the best starting block. have you checked the insurance and running costs though? I don't know what sorta spare cash youve got but at 20 these are pretty expensive cars to run.

I think your best bet is to set a budget and find the best car to fit into it. Ideally swb ideally manual ideally this and that is important but can be difficult to tick all the boxes AND the price one too.

Good luck searching tho... And check mine out in the For Sale if you like history

I understand and agree, but I've got a 50 year old dad that knows what he's doing and loves these cars too so I'm sure I'll be okay, thanks haha. I'm excellent with my money and cars are where most my money goes to, I'd rather the money and a bit more go on a car I like a lot :)

Your email isn't correct just tried it

Hello and good look with the search!! Will be nice to have another local person loitering about

At 20 I would have thought that an NA would be the most affordable option insurance and running costs wise, though I could be wrong of course

Haha thanks man! Think the site might help a lot with finding one!

Twin Turbo is actually cheaper! But for running costs etc I'd rather the N/A! :P

How about go for an NA in the meantime and do something different from the norm further down the line....maybe supercharge it or something!

That'd be different! I'll have to see how I feel when I've owned one for a while :P Just plan on babying it for the first while of owning it! Maybe I'll have some plans further down the line :D
