Dave Naxton is offering a special group purchase price, and has this to say:

Hi Noel - It would be great to have the 300ZX club on board.

I believe Bobgenie is looking to compete again. I doubt very much my Zed will be as quick over the 1/4 as my MR2, but it's a highly-strung beast so it may pop at an inopportune moment. I didn't enter last year as part of a club (I was running the only Pulsar there!), and I haven't heard anything about an IMOC presence there this year, so I'll be more than glad to help with any organising if required :)

For those that haven't been before, it's a great day out! Even better if you come for the weekend.... Plus, those without a £100k to plough into their motors need all hands on deck when the inevitable happens

Teams are for between 5 & 10 cars. Just waiting to hear back from Dave Naxton regarding entry, but he's said just go onto the TOTB website & enter individually.

You need to register on the TOTB website.

The MR2 proved itself today at Pod, whilst the Zed is stuck in the high 12s...

I went onto the website today to enter individually but they have a separate team registration where we enter all the team details and pay all up. I have emailed Dave to determine whether we should do it as individuals. IMO it would be better to get it done as a team ASAP and then we can work on the details as we go. What's the general concensus?

I had a think about this today and for myself think that we should join as a team as soon as possible. I don't mind admitting that I'm not really a team player and have always gone pretty much my own way. However I do run large projects with anything up to 500 people and I have learnt that the best way to suceed is to work together and if we're going to be a proper team we need to start now. Rather than join as a number of individuals we should join as a team and that will help to give us a sense of belonging. It will also help to focus our attention on our goals as a team and as indivduals and help to build a strong unit. Let me know what you guys think and let's see if we've really got the potential to actually create something worthwhile. I somehow doubt a 300zx can win the event but a team of 5 plus can certainly make a mark and who knows we could do well in the team standings.

I think a team entry is the future, and also asap, but after the japfest. Im on 3 track sessions so it will tell me if or what needs changing on the car, and if it survives.

As soon as that's out of the way, ill happily put the entry money up and begin the planning, and maybe a meet up or 2 before the event. Simple discussions can take days on here.

cheers,

danny

well i have that much on my plate at the min work house and getting car together bobgenie if you are happy to organise the team entry i would be very grateful to be honest

PS. This was my car before the off at Cadwell and it was exactly what I wanted it to be. It's now back on the road doesn't look so nice - actually like a bit of a dog sadly but at least it's working lol. Still not much seat time so Croft will be first test. I will definitely fit the gopro this time just in case we get any more flying time in.

Well it looks like there are enough people to make a team.

Lets get Croft and Japfest out of the way this weekend. Then we can set a "closing date" for team entries..

It will also give us time to determine the best/correct way to pay and form the team.

I will be there to assist/organize . It looks like there are enough entrants without me being part of the team which is fine by me.

I may still take part tho... just cant commit ATM

Thanks Pete for the chat. Quarter mile, standing kilometer and a slalom!!! This is going to be so good! I hope my abilities are going to be upto scratch. Lots of prep to do!!

I was going to organise the team, hence starting the thread, posting on Facebook and talking to Dave about it etc, but there's no point more than one person doing it.

I was trying to make the point that if it was ever going to happen we needed to get on with it and I certainly wasn't putting my hand up for organising the team. There were quite specific reasons why I was keen to find out if we genuinely had a team and it was important for me to find out at the earliest opportunity.

I appreciate all the benefits that being part of a team can bring but based on what I'm reading here it's also clear that being part of a forum team might not be right for me personally.

On that basis can you take my name off the list.

My post wasn't aimed at you, it's just that there's no point in more than one person dealing with registering the team with TOTB.

Correspondence so far:

Hi Dave,

How do I go about registering the 300zx.co.uk team?

Hi Noel,

Just get your guys to pop onto our website

Hi,

OK, will do. Is there not a way that I can enter everybody's details as it's a team?

Like I've said, I've got my MR2 concentrate on, but I'll still happily organise the 300zx.co.uk team, sort all the paperwork & entrants, the logistics of getting all the club gear to York etc etc. Or someone else can do it and I'll have more time to do my own thing given that my other car is well into the 11s after the first shakedown of the year. I'd rather not waste my time or anyone else's :)

Yeah I'm up for that. Nothings getting sorted here.

When, that's the big question. A random rwyb day?

May 18th is general RWYB. May 19th is Test & Tune. Alternatively, there's Shakespeare County Raceway.

I'm waiting on a call from Dave. The fact that we've got 5 ready & willing members is great going, and I know one Zed that should do very well all round. Will be a great day, it's just so much fun. Can't wait :D

Right!

As it stands the list is:

1. jaffa

2. will300zxtt

3. Noz

4. keano

5. Silverline

I am not overly keen on entering my Zed as it won't be very competitive unless I pull the engine and fit some big turbos, and I simply haven't got the time to do that. Saying that, I'll gladly enter as long as it's part of an Official 300zx.co.uk Team as originally planned. I've not heard anything back from Dave, so will chase him up. There may be another entrant with decent power as well.

22nd July is the team cut-off point :)

Will get on it after Time Attack this weekend.

Ideally we need to have a mini-meet about this, and I need to know the plan regarding 300zx.co.uk banners/marquee/barbecue etc.

any movement on this guys. I want to enter so if the team idea isn't looking like happening then ill just enter individually, and see you on the start. lol.

Im free next sunday for a mini meet if that's what it needs but that's to late for a team entry anyway. So do we get our team entry in before the closing date then have meet to sort out the details.

Does it just need someone to bite the bullet and sign us up, and if so, does said person have to pay the whole amount?

Im going to japfest 2 aswel so that could be a meet for arranging things aswel.

Cheers.
