Removed the fuel pump today to insert fuel foam to try and baffle the fuel a bit.

I noticed in the tank is a square shaped kindof baffle with a hole in the rear at the bottom of it and a slight cut off at the top of the front.

So the baffle fills up under breaking and empties during hard acceleration. Is this ideal?

The baffle is made of plastic so I cut a small section out at the front to allow fuel to fill during acceleration. Maybe i should have made some cut outs on the sides aswell to prevent starvation during Cornering?!?

Sorry just realised the little hole at the back actually fills during acceleration ideas getting things the wrong way round, so under breaking just before I corner you would get starvation I think. Hopefully this little cut out should help, so it fills under breaking And I have enough full for the corner. ANYWAY this is probably boring peeps.

Sorry mate, what was that? I dozed off :sleep1:

Let us know if it works pal :thumbup1:

I presume that baffle is there to stop it sloshing too much and effecting the fuel gauge needle? Probably wrong though.

IMO you should have left well alone. Nissan spent a lot of time and money getting thing correct on the car. I think you will now find you have made things worse not better by cutting holes in the inner container.

Yeah I think you right, I was thinking the same thing. I'm opening it back up 2mow and covering up the hole

I made. The foam should help a bit.

yep that little plastic box is very carefully designed to enable the pump to pick up the last of the fuel.. The level in there remains higher than the rest of the tank at low volumes cos that is where the return pipe drops its fuel in.
