OK I just felt I had to post this

Since i got my Zed fitted with body kit the way I wanted it and resprayed white I have to say the response from the public at large is pretty impressive (and YES I'm lovin it)

It seems no matter where I her park up.... or just driving along the road - there are folks admiring the car - like the 'trolly' lad at tesco I caught admiring it- or the couple on the shoppping centre carepark the missus over heard saying wow thats a nice car, and she said 'wow isnt it low'

or even the group of young guys in some dodgy looking 'ugraded' hatchback with a drainpipe for an exhaust who pulled steady alongside gauping the other day - until I decided to put my foot down a bit :tt2:

Today pulling up at a pub (business customer of ours) some guys stopped playing pool, knocked on the window and asked what make it was (through the glass)

So I gotta say I'm loving this car. And I aint even done the interior yet

So no doubt it is not just me - it didnt happen before I did the bodywork/respray - but the effect of that work has been pretty astounding - who else has a 20 yr old car that folks drool over? Yet what would you buy new for the cost of owning such a car (guess between buying it and working on it mince cost about 8k now)

And if your Z gets that sort of reaction, does it make you smile everytime you wake up and see it on the drive?

I do, and I anin't ashamed of it!

I absolutely love the attention that Z's get, when I'm driving past pedestrians I always see if they're looking, sure I'm not the only one lol... coming back from JAE a couple of cars slowed down next to me and were taking pics and giving me the thumbs up... its a good feeling!

It is a great feeling even when I had mine on the back of a transporter people were pulling along side taking pics, even a old couple women about 60 odd pulled out her big camera and gave it a few snaps then gave a smile

So can't wait till its actually done and on the road

Best one I ever had was an old women about 70ish walked past on the high street, she looked down into the car as the t bar was off and said nice zed.

Totally took me by surprise :)

Haha that's great most people from 16-50 don't know what they are yet someone who's 70 odd knew great stuff lol

I was chatting to a mate yesterday who I haven't seen in a while. He knows the headache I've had with my car and was asking why I haven't given up and just gone and bought a new car. I laughed and said that although I haven't driven a Z in 6 years, I remember it being a fantastic car to drive that turns heads in the street and looks like no other on the road. Sure, I could have gone and bought a 350 or something but it's just another car on the road that is nothing special - unlike a 300 :)

Remember the first run with the wife and boy in ours, running up the A3 between Guildford and the M25, when joined by a Sagaris who promptly threw down the gauntlet to see what I had.

After educating my then 10 year old on the merits of behaving sensibly in the face of obvious show offs and resisting taking the the bait! He responded sure dad, now can we go get the TVR!!

Following a road legal! tit for tat passing, all the other slower cars.....we arrived at our junction for the M25 exit only to be followed down by said TVR owner.. Not sure where this was going to lead too, we were much amused that as he pulled alongside and gave a big thumbs up mouthing the words, respect, great car! and proceeded stupidly quick to the opposite side of the motorway junction rejoining the A3....

Sure he could of wopped us, but he was clearly taken aback to our turn of speed whenever he passed us, especially given the age defecit we had. So much so to divert his journey to acknowledge it.

Seems real petrol heads recognise stand out motors when they see them.

Look forward to getting back on the road and doing it all again.
