Just sat here watching the above and was wondering what you guys thought was the worst car in history and most of all why?

Mine is a 1988 ford Orion always broke down on me no matter how much I spent on it getting it fixed, its best feature was it knew when I had to be somewhere quickly and decided it did not want to start.

Then after a night out I woke up to find it gone from my drive and on someone elses round the corner. This was over 15 years ago and not yesterday.

Morris marina

No Way I remember them my uncle had one it was a right bag of chisels also.

For me it was a J-reg Ford Scorpio 2.0 twin cam that I had back in 1993. The damn thing was barely a year old and in the 3 months I had it, I must have driven it only a third of that time as it spent it's life in the Ford dealers having one thing after another fixed. And fixed again, and again and again!!!

Whilst I know that modern Fords are much more reliable - and are pretty well built and drive well too by all accounts - I'd never have one as the Scorpio experience finished them off for me!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

In saying that my mothers partner around 5 years ago had a P plate scorpio Cosworth it was fast but handled like poo!! in the end it just rusted underneath that much he was like Fred Flintstone in his car.

Oi!! Nothing wrong with marinas. My 1st car was a marina and I loved him very much. In fact he had done 240k and his bodywork was still immaculate ( admittedly not quite as sound underneath) till the fateful days my dad borrowed him and wrote him off doing an over exuberant turn at the bottom of our road :crying:

mark 1 austin allegro 1.1 , good it was not , shower of shit it most definitley was, until the lower ball joint snapped turning the steering wheel into a whirling blade of death and the whole heap got thrown into a farmers field, in factit was so bad i went and bought another one ,

Worst car I have ever owned had to be the Astra GSi. What a piece of shit that car was. Soured the dream for me as I always wanted one as a youngster! Slow and crap handling and easy to steal as I found out! Good riddance to it! Plus easily the chavviest car I have ever owned!

This was my one, only had it 6 weeks and it was stolen to end my misery lol

I loved these cars as a youngster especially wanted a white one and would still probably have one if a decent one comes about. Used to buy Fast Car as a teen and always see them on show. Sadly im a coffin dodger now (34) and have grown out of buying Fast Car.

Oi! I love my old z31....as long as I don't try to compare it to my z32tt for performance.

A D reg seat ibiza with the system porche engine in red, that had a passenger door that opened on its own for no reason on the A40 hanger lane gyrotary hitting a police traffic volvo on its wing, causing me to get stopped, only for the police to find i had faulty handbrake, two bald tyres, and emmisions that were off the scale, bloody thing got me points.

the worst car z32 ... and you all know why :)

because the windscreen wiper always goes one more time when you turn it off?

because the windscreen wiper always goes one more time when you turn it off?

That's parking mode or something like that. If you notice when you turn them off they drop lower under the bonnet comired to when there on

My first car, a y reg 1.0 vw p p polo. In red ( orange as it was shitty) more filler then metal and worked on the engine every week in my ownership. Got me well prepaired for owning a z lol.

I would never own another polo ever again!!!!

Vauxhall Signum, same happened with my cousins vectra, about 45000 miles, water pump fell apart (whilst on a motorway) window wiper linkages snapped, radio exploded, loads of electrical faults and the best came down one morning and thought that looks low. Front springs had snapped and it was sat on the bump stops.. will never own a vauxhall again..

My cousin thought it was hilarious until it all happened to him.. lol...

Funny you should say that, I had a corsa that was crap it was newish sod all miles but the workmanship on it was crap bits literally fell off. And the fuel economy for a 1.2 was crap aswel.

Z31's aside I would have to say the worst car for reliability that I have ever owned was my MG BGT when I was 18

It's true what they say about cars having their own personality and I'd liken the MG to an 80 year old pensioner with a whole bag of chips on his shoulder....it usually went something like:

Started first time.....driving beautifully.....not a care in the world (suddenly)....stops working, no bangs, no rattles, no explaination it just stopped....10 minutes stood at the side of the road staring at the engine, followed by the sporadic un-educated 'touching' of all things enginey'.....then without so much as a struggle the engine would fire up and run like a dream until the next day when the obnoxious old ****s personality would rear its head again!

It could drive for a hundred miles on B roads and wouldn't miss a beat or overheat in the slightest....never did figure what was wrong with it

the worst ive owned would be my 89 1300cc civic auto it had no guts at all, kickdown would just make more noise and not actually translate to any forward movement at all and because i had some old lowering springs kicking about i slammed it to the floor meaning it couldnt do speed bumps, curbs, potholes, any stones of any size in fact i rekon if you'd have put a digestive face down in the road id have been able to tell you weather it was a plain or chokky lol

On the other hand a freind of mine has a 56 c4 hdi hatchback and it is awful its got 70k on the clock and heres a list of faults off the top of my head;

door seals are dead so doors are full of water

boot unlocks and opens every time you unlock the centeral locking

paint is flat

heated wing mirrors packed up

blower doesnt work in positions 1,2,3 it only works in 4 so you get full power or nothing

cel is on because of particulate filter malfunction

if you wind down the rear windows the centeral locking goes mental (opening the boot)

door handles stick open stopping the door from closing

if you plug a satnav into the lighter socket all the brake lights blow

rear bushes are knackered

im sure theres more but i cant remember all of it, honestly it gotta be one of the worst cars ive ever known
