Pretty sure you can as I think that falls below the threshold. Although I wouldn't know as I don't have any kids (that I know of / in this country)

We as a family earn about the same as you we filled it all in and they wouldn't give us anything, but we know people in the same predicament and they can claim

If you ask me the whole system is bulls**t

thats what happened to me, i filled them in got £46 once and no more, they tell me im not elligible but i know people who earn more that get about £40 a month?

you should get it as neither of you earn more than 50k, it doesn't look at combined income

Doubt it mate you sound rich enough as it is lol... We get it but we earn about 14k between us

Can go on tax credits website stells and use the calculator thing and it will tell you straight away if you are entitled to anything

I think a couple with one child, with joint earnings that exceeds £26,000 per annum does not qualify for child tax credits.

The threshold raises about £6,000 per child there after up to 4 children.

IIRC

you should get it as neither of you earn more than 50k, it doesn't look at combined income

sorry, I'm referring to child benefit, not the tax credit

sorry they dropped the limit, i was a single parent for years but still working i was on 20k plus moved in with my partner she was on 19k was capped at 40 but they dropped it to just over 20 now so we lost it ,,not that i care was just enjoying getting somthing back

reckon you should get at least £40 per month, been 3 years since my g/f worked there but thats what she reckons. All depends on your circumstances for example if there is child care involved etc. Hey if a polish man can come over here and claim for kids back in poland then you should be entitled to it!!!!

Hey Allan,

I'd have thought you'd be eligible for something mate; I know a couple of people who get it and the main earners in their household are on around £28k and their partners each work part time and probably take around £10k....

....I don't know what the limits are nowadays; but from my days as a tax manager in an accountancy practice, I do remember the forms were a bloody nightmare - like they were specifically designed to put people off of claiming!

Give it a go mate - if you don;t ask you'll never get. Good luck!

one thing that pisses me oiff is that all the places round here that can help with these matters wont help me as im not claiming benefits lol

bout time i got something back though, boiled my piss lately seeing all the dole wallers on my facebook frinds with mountains of gifts for their children when me and shell struggle to buy for charlie as the mortgage and what not is killing us while she isnt being paid lol

i know what you mean ,we have 8 weeks till our second ,my other half is working right up to 20 days before due date and we can't get any help because we both work but the girl down the road gets healthy eating money and free milk plus £500 to get started she's not a days work ever

defo somthing wrong

i'm all for helping when people hit hard times between jobs but just to sit and claim none stop gets me

Feel your pain mate.

my wife is disabled and I have a 12 year old daughter, since the recent changes I have lost over £40 a month! may not seem a lot to a bureaucrat, but kicked me where it hurts. Spoke to them on the phone and insisted they kept my claim open even though I knew I would no get anywhere just to piss them off.

Good luck with your endeavours.
