spent ages trying to get round my handbrake problems with my Na, and in doing so have modified my S13's old hydraulic handbrake to fit in the existing place with the OE ratchet, so its road legal.

but then realised, unlike my TT which i did the modifying on as its in bits so made it easier, that the ABS module isn't in the boot...???

does this mean i have a non abs zed??? or are they somewhere else on the NA (both are LWB)

if i do have a non abs, do i have 2 separate brake lines going to the rear? so how would i plumb my nice new handbrake in? on the TT it was going to sit in-line after the abs module before it splits off left & right.

can i T the brake lines together then separate them afterwards?

(sorry if i've said a stupid thing)

trying to save money as the TT projects on the back burner until the NA's on the road.

clearly you have a non ABS NA.

It was optional on the NA. Like lots of useless stuff was.

Check you BMC and see how many outlets you have!!!

IIRC it is a diagonal split system??

just wanted to check it wasn't somewhere else, don't need abs anyway lol.

unfortunately its locked up at work now, so will have a look Thursday, only remember seeing 2 though.

As Pete says, some NAs did not come with ABS.....

......easiest way of spotting it is whether or not you have an ABS light on the dash when you switch the ignition on!

Hydraulic handbrakes using the existing brake hydraulic lines are not legal .

You need a separate system to the main footbraking system.

really? our MOT testers seemed to think it was fine.

will be taking my TTs OEM brake set-up, then using the new handbrake for the TT.

I believe you can Tee into the rear hard lines for a hydrdolic handbrake as long as they dont leak and pull up even. you still have to keep the cable handbrake for road use though. this is what i have been led to understand.
