Has anyone known a z32 oil pump to totally fail?

Featured Replies

yes ... me

however its not common ... and normally if your gauge is Low or not reading its the oil sensor sender unit that fails

has your pump failed ?

Bought a scrap Z because looked to good to break.. Ive put new timing belt on because previous owner had it all set up wrong.. Its fires up/runs and idles good now tho smells of oil plus pressure gauge doesnt move at all.. This car has been stood for at least two years I was told.

but no knocking sounds or top end rattles ?

how long did u have it running for ?

no knocking but top end bit rattly.. Only ran it for few mins as havent put belts or rad fan back on yet.. Ill get back on it tomorrow and idle it then get underneath to see if oil filter warms up.. Thought id get some pressure reading even if pump is shot.. Il order a new sender tho.

the senders on these cars are all ways failing ..

i have a used working one here if your interested £15 posted ?
