So, car is off the road for the winter.

When it comes out the garage in the spring it will need the timing belt changed and I'm also getting the turbos done, possibly upgraded to a higher spec.

Looking like costing me around 2k from the garages up here.

Is that a reasonable sort of price?

Seems ok, if thats all in, but my question is have the garages that quoted done much work on 300zx's before, alot of garages will give a price, then after the have started doing the work, the bill rises due to unforeseen things. due to the fact, they dont know what they up againest.

I would personally take it to a garage that knows these cars inside and out, knows what issues come up, plus has done many timing belt changes

Check out zedworld in the traders section, your car will be in very good hands, plus he will have a good look over the rest of the car and offer advice on other bits.

If your quite handy on your own, then the belt isnt too bad, but the turbo's can be a pain.

Just my opinion.

2k to pull the block rebuild the tubs and service the engine cambelt etc is very cheap mate, but id be cautious over their experience level with the car.

As above, if they know what they're doing and handy on a Z then that's a good price IMO.

If not, then budget on a bit more as it may take them by suprise. Plus somets likely to snap etc once works underway.

They've worked on Zeds before, the mechanic had just finishing rebuilding a zed block and putting that back into that car when i got in contact.

Have also used them on other performance cars and always been good, so if people reckon the price is ok then that's good.

Thanks.

I have spent around £1800....... and I pulled the engine and refitted it myself! [admitadley I purchased some little extras along the way:drool:]
