Engine knocking

Hi everyone, I need some help guys, my zed is sick badly now after last weekend.

I been out in basildon for a bit sideways night was epic but at the end of the day soon I was driving home i felt that my engine lost power and its knocking badly. I opened my bonned foun out cylinder 4 spurk plug was out( had broken plug)

Soon I pluged in knocking sound didnt gone.

So that means I was drifting on 14psi on 5 cylinders, I felt was dont want to slide but I thought that because road is gripy.

What damage my engine could have now?

Can it be broken valves ?

Broken piston rod or bearings?

:// if is just a rod rings bearings that not to bad but if valves will be bended that not a good news.

if fragments of teh plug ended up in the combustion chamber you will have caused some problems no doubt, but speaking from experince running on 5 cylinders teh car feels like a bag of shite, more revs required for pulling away driving everything. if with anew plug teh engine purs like a kitten and passes compression testing youve probally been very lucky. obviously those were private roads you were drifting on aswel i take it.

Well I definitely know its something knocking inside is nut a plug now. Plug just caused that problem.

But is possible that my valves a ok ? I know its cylinder number 4 only that gots a problem.

Piston bearing and rings is easy changeable but if valves or main block ..... I am F*****

do a compression test to see if the cylinder is holding taht will elimate rings valve seating damage to the bore etc if it passes, unfortunatly i think the only way you will know is to pop off the head and inspect properly. you could use a borescope to spot anything obvious. although there cant be a compelte loss of compression or the cyldnder would still be inactive. tbh if yoiur going to be replace bearing or rods changing a valve isnt a mucgh bigger job in all fairness.

I am not planing to take a head off I want to take sump off and front subframe and I think its will be possible to reach a piston. To take a head off is to much work.

u will not get to the piston from the sump side ... Piston and Con rod will only come out from the top when the head has been removed

When you say No 4 plug wa out do you mean the actual spark plug or the coil pack / connector on top of the plug? two very different things.

But why cant I take piston from the bottom ?Can I undo camshaft and remove a rod ?

Sorry mate I mean wire came out from coilpack and than is was no spark in the cylinder 4 and I was pressing gas pedal really hard.

Nope just can not be done ...

Anyways you need to look at JeffTT question .. before even thinking about taking the engine apart
