I've finally got round to fitting my replacement wing mirror but i need a bit of help wiring it up.

 

The problem is the old wing mirror had a 7 pin plug and the new has a 5 pin plug (old was heated, new isnt)

 

I've taken a pic of the plugs and wires, can anyone tell me which wires need to be joined together because i have no idea :p

 

What do you need to know what wires goes where for, just stick it in as the colour of the wires doesn't matter :thumbup1:.

 

Read this thread and put in the two wires needed to run a heated mirror as what you have is just what I had :yes:.

The two plugs are different

In your pic and looking at the 7 pin car plug the yellow/blue and blue/white which are together at one end are the heated two wires, so if you ever bought a heated glass run two wires from these to it.

 

Looking at yours and my pics it looks to me like

 

orange goes to green/black

I cannot make out the colours as they all look blueish on the car plug but adjacent to the green/black wire this is where you connect the blue wire from mirror, then one down is the yellow and down again is the purple.

pink to green/red

 

Write down and post what goes where as I am sure others will need it :thumbup1:

 

EDIT - I'd get a tiny screwdriver and slide out the pins, rather than sever the lot and then solder.

I know this reply is a while in coming but I've seen similar queries and enough is enough I am writing this down !!

 

Mine is a J Spec so I have the full compliment of 7 wires at each mirror.

 

This is my drivers side, colour first in each case below is the mirror wire

 

Orange connects to Green/Black

Blue to Blue/Orange

Yellow to Blue/Black

Purple to Blue

Pink to Green/Red

Black to Yellow/Blue

Black to Blue/White

 

I know the final two blacks from the mirror are for the heated glass part, note both blacks are the same colour and so if you flip flopped them it wouldn't matter.

 

Not sure if all imports are the same but my passenger side as some slight differences, so please note carefully as the Blue and the Yellow mirror coloured wires below go to different coloured wires than the ones on the drivers side

 

Orange connects to Green/Black

Blue to Blue/Red

Yellow to Blue/Yellow

Purple to Blue

Pink to Green/Red

Black to Yellow/Blue

Black to Blue/White
