Hi all got this project with sweet engine starts and runs lovely.

well start her every week while doing loads of other work to her, last time a hose split so replaced all hoses and not started for 4 weeks . then on next fire up starts first time and idles smooth BUT when increasing revs she wont go above 2500rpm if persisting by pumping throttle she dies . restarts and idles fine but still wont go above 2500. checked fuel delivery and filter ok checked connections and maf but still the same . HELP please .

that symptom usually points to a faulty MAF, try unplugging it and see if it does the same.

actually i did try that and it was the same . putting a meter across it said readings ok according to manual . do they just give up for no reason ? thanks for quick reply

Yeah they can be very tempremental at times. I'm breaking my Z now and still have my MAF if you need one.

they dont like getting wet! you may find you have to disconnect your battery for a little while to see any difference
