What uprated turbos does everyone have? and where from? also supporting mods?

i've got turbo Technics stage 2's, with FMIC, selin dual intake, blitz controller etc. but they are not worth the metal they are made from,

 

got next to no more BHP once fitted, just more lag.

 

will be getting a replacement set from z1 at some point not sure what size yet.

HKS boost controller (off = 9 psi, low 15 = psi, hi = 18psi, 310bhp, 388bhp, 424.6bhp respectively)

Z1 side mount intercoolers

Uprated oil cooler

Uprated radiator high flow radiator

 

Unknown engine internals as of yet.

 

The GT525 turbos, are a Z1 specialties, you ship your OEM turbos to them (or pay a core charge) they take your turbos, grind out the housing to a bigger A/R, they fit new bearings, new oil seals, new turbines, put them back together stamp them, ship them to you, and its a direct fit as they are the OEM housing with uprated internals.

Although I have some nismo 555's... In a box... In the garage! I have dyno'd it on stock injectors at 9psi and it made 365fwhp

Joel pickerings has them,nick z32,a guy called Grant whos not a member,Paul from Sussex ive forgot his username on here,Alanz has them,Zogg iirc,leo gts on here and Tommyboy, and myself bud,a few Lol.good tubs for the money.the cores are new garret units not refurbs,the housing are modded but the cores are new with larger turbines.Could be more but ive slept since then.

What's the spool up on those like compared to stock Mark?

I have the greddy 16g turbos. To be honest I think they're one of te best you can get

very good full boost is 4k ish but all most and spool time is quick ... not like quick as auto tubs on manual but very drivable

never worked on yours bud,id recognise it for sure.

gt525's and gt2650's has anybody done a compressor map on these turbos? would like to compare specs to my tubs

 

mine and birds turbo spec roughly.

Greddy modifies Mitsubishi turbos. They share the same turbo designations, the wheels' specs are probably the same. The housings are different. Greddy never gives out any specs nor compressor maps on them. I'll be using Mitsubishi specs to assume Greddy specs. (not my own words lol)

475cfm @ 2PR @ 68%.

520cfm @ 2PR @ 60%.

525cfm max flow 2.3 @ 19psi.

27.6psi max boost limited by compressor wheel speed.

37LB/Min or 520cfm max flow @16psi (from the updated map).

24psi max boost limited by compressor wheel speed.

my old turbos was the GT 525, spool around 4000rpm (the best i can tune in the blizt SBC w/o boost spikes)

 

Now i have the Z1 GT675 whit 3´inch DP/TP, amazing spool above 3000rpm , way better than the 525, way more fun to drive the power is amazing.

Jimmer fitted my 525's as mentioned earlier - I swear by them now! Very responsive turbo, gives great drive ability. It may not give the thump of some larger units, but if you value being able to accelerate mid corner, without snap oversteer, then they are a great package. I've yet to play with anything other than standard boost, but they start working much lower down the rev range than suggested on this thread. By 2k revs they are already working and anything from 3-5/6k is right in the sweet spot. I could have gone for larger units, but I'm glad I listened to Jimmer now, the man talks sense!
