Google mail converts lots of stuff for you, may be worth a try. Send it through that and then view in Gmail and copy the text out, past it somewhere else.

There are also online conversion services and probably loads of OpenSource utilities available.

Yes Dave you are right, i have a pdf convertor anyway that deals with it all lol

Always use google, just type in: pdf to word

And if yo ever need to turn a pdf into a jpeg - http://pdf2jpg.net/ - been using that for ages.
