Anybody know how much I'd be looking at to get a door painted?

 

Not my zed, got an S class that some little scroat decided to carve his initial on last night!

 

To say i was pissed to see this first thing this morning is an understatement.

this happened to me but on my zed!!!!!!!

Not in anyway lucky mate, but at least the little **** bag pikey **** didn't scratch down the whole side of the car....is it deep?

Aye it's pretty deep mate. Annoying thing is I had it up for sale with 50 watchers on ebay and due to finish tomorrow, I've just withdrawn the advert til clean it up a bit or get it painted.

I have a feeling at the back of my head that its actually someone that's been to view it while for sale, they tried to knock me down a lot on price and I wasn't willing to go that low...I'm thinking they expect to see the price come tumbling down now. But that may just me my paranoia getting the better of me, could have been any other little ****....parked right behind the zed and the zed was untouched.

 

Anyone fancy an educated guestimate of repair cost? I've been fortunate in that I've never needed paint or bodywork done before so have no idea of cost.

Don't know how it compares to other places, but the paint lads we use are £130 a panel

That sounds similar to prices down here too; anywhere between £120 and £150 per panel is normal, although you might find a friendly body shop willing to do it for cash as it's a straight forward repair. Failing that, what about a smart-repairer, like Chips Away? They may not be top notch, but if you're selling the car it may just do the job for less £££s than you think.

I actually remembered a chips away guy I know from a while ago and dropped him an email. I'll see what he says but with the prices you and Roobarb said, sounds like I should just get it sorted properly

Not too far to travel at all mate, I'm southside of Glasgow

My mate has his own wee place in Airdrie, did my mates PT Cruiser, metallic blue, three panels, roof, tailgate and a door.

Think he charged him £90 a panel ? I can give you his number if you want.

Peter is Polish, but dont be put off, he is a sound guy ! Painted my Corvette and it was a cracking job !

Thanks a lot Alan, I'll give him a buzz tomorrow and see if I can find a suitable time to get over there between work over the next week or so. Zed needs a bit of a tidy up too, might take a trip over with that after the merc sells to see what he could do for me there, give you a shout then if you want to see a localish zed over your way :0)
