rear centre panel

does anyone know the best way to polish out small scratches on the centre rear panel between the lights, ive got a spare in very good condition that im toying a new idea with but has slight scratches on it, and i want to get it back to perfect. saw a vid on youtube using toothpaste on clear plastic bmw head lights, have tried that and its better but not spot on.

I dont want to try super fine wet and dry as it will scratch it more
