the engine in my car is fairly unknown, while its out the little and alrge jobs are being done. took the belt cover off tonight, to find cams that looked a little funny. theres 3 other engines sat in the lock up and the cam pulleys didn't match them. with mine the inlet cams are solid, well too look at theres a second cover on the cam pulley face, bolted up from behind. confused. any explaination?

here you go steve these are very similar to what you have z3246891063-img338x600-1342708033xygtc338299.jpg looks like they are post 94 pulleys from what i have read but can somebody confirm??

compared to what i know them to look like mqdefault.jpg

They are 94spec cams ... Work no diffrent nor have better vvt parts to older style it was done just to ade in setting up the timing mark correctly at the factory

People say they don't work on older engines ... They do but u need to make sure timing mark is correctly aligned up

so it looks like ive got a series 3? engine. running in a series 1 car, the instalation of this engine was shockingly poor. zedworld did alot to get it back running properly, me and gaz have pulled it out to do the tubs recently. one of the manifoklds was missing two bolts and letting gasses pass, the egr wasnt connected to the vac system and the mount where it joins the manifold was history. this may explain why i couldnt find much from the engine code.

the engines are the same ... and yes would say its a S2 engine ... but its only the electronics that was different across from 1/2/3/4 Bar Some of the Early S1 89/90 engines had different valves installed (made from different metals)

other than that Nothing ... Engine code is on the Back>top of the Main Block Drivers side
