I'm absolutely certain this has been asked before but I cant find the thread...

In my Zed I've got the rear Bose speakers. What size are the speakers inside the Bose pods as I am looking at replacing the speakers at the same time as I do the fronts over the winter?

Cheers

Alex

does that mean I'll have to custom fabricate some boxes unless I can get hold of some 6" ones?

noo .. just mod the box's a little to take the 6.5" ... only need to open the hole up a little

sweet, thanks. I'll check it out at the weekend and update on my progress!

The originals are 6" x 4". There aren't many manufacturers out there that still produce this size but as said above, you can modify the aperture of the metal frame to accept 6" x 9" speakers. IIRC you'll also need to bash down the passenger side wheel well a little as it fouls on the speaker's magnet.

Fronts should take 6.5" speakers without requiring any modifications to the frame. There are people who've fitted 6" x 9" in the front but that requires a completely new frame to be manufactured (usually from MDF).

Good luck with the project.

I thought the original rears were round?

The front ones might be more of a challenge, previous owner has butchered the front doors a bit to fit some 6x9s in and they keep falling out...

Rear Standard Speakers are 6x4 ..

Bose Rear Speakers are 6" Can be made to fit 6.5"

Front Standard Speakers are 6.25" can be made to fit 6.5"

Bose Front speakers are 6.5"

Voddy yes u can get some 6" speakers but check the Brand ... ?? would u stick Tac like that in if your looking for a better sound ?
