is blu ray better than watching sky hd, not sure wether to get promethius on blu-ray or watch on sky hd, are they both the same?

Featured Replies

Both the same mate, just get it from the sky store :)

PS make sure you get the HD version from sky, for some stupid reason most of the on demand stuff is in SD. Since you can only get on demand via an HD box, I can't understand the reasoning behind it. Why the fook would an HD customer want stuff in SD?? Bloody sky....

End Rant.

Sky HD is awsome but if you gonna which a good movie I would get blu ray, it's just as good as HD but in my opinion the blu ray quality was slightly better :thumbup1:

ive just been googling it and it seems blu-ray is better, might nip to the vid shop see if they have it in on blu-ray

cheers

Sky HD is 1080i (interlaced)

Bluray is 1080p (progressive)

Think Bluray is better, but it would be hard to tell lol

You can't tell the differnece mate. I bought Battle LA on blue ray and it was no better than the sky HD. Save yourself a tenner bud.

I have nothing to add to this other than to say Prometheus is a good film :whistling:

I disagree, was talking to voddy about it the other day. Made no sense to me and left me confused, frightened and angry....lol

the bird in it is cute though :)

Yeah I think it has split film fans :) I liked it but then I will watch anything lol

In my opinion blu ray is better, but it depends on what film your watching. I find it makes the special effects look more fake on older films, and green screen more obvious.

for instance I got the matrix trilogy on blu ray, and it looked so fake on the green screen bits and the animation wasn't very good (due to the age of the film) so the enhanced quality from the blu ray made that alot more noticeable :bored: . However I've got the fugitive on blu ray, and it looks incredible. the explosions are real explosions and there is no cgi, it looks awesome, much better than HD :cool3: . Same as Avatar, that looks breath taking in blu ray, which is due to the animation been made for 3d I think.

So I think Prometheus will probably be the same calibre as avatar, so will probably be worth buying in blu ray. I didn't enjoy the film too much but I am tempted just because of the alternate ending and beginning.
