Check this ebay member out - he is bidding on my car & has quite a few positive feedback left for him but most with really bad comments?!?

How the hell does that work?? I can see one person leaving a positive by mistake but this many??

What do you all think?? :confused1:

That doesn't look good. Maybe they think if they leave negative feedback they will receive negative feedback from the person so leave positive but with a negative comment to warn people. I'm not really sure though.

As a seller you can have a high bidder who 'wins' the item and never pays, you then go through procedures of getting your selling fees back all the time giving the buyer time to pay.

You can then NOT leave negative feedback to this person, bizarre I know and as happened to me many times.

The only option therefore is to leave positive as you cannot leave anything else and a negative comment :hammer:

I know - well strange. Wondered if he had found a way to hack into his accound to change all feedback to positive LOL!!

As Andy says....the only way you can leave a comment is by doing it positive which is ridiculous. I suppose you hope thet other people then read the comments

really = thats crap then but explains it at least!

Yep - as Andy mentioned. Had same thing last week.

Won item, called seller, agreed to pay cash on collection. Next day arrived, seller decided no to sell and asked for more money. I told him to go "finger" himself. Left negative feedback. Checked few days later - my negative feedback removed by ebay as he told them i didn't pay and thats why he never sold it. Sent ebay letters with his emails (where he rejects sale in writing) etc but no luck. Too many "fookheads" on ebay novadays ,...

LOL - look at another bidder on my car:

has "private" feedback?! Never seen that before!! He can hide the actual comments, probably because its the same as that previous bidder!! :hammer:

yea but he,s not allowed to sell untill he changes his feedback profile back to public

had this before!! what the seller does is to get the buyer to retract the negative feedback but the comment still stands in the box

ths can be done be offering discount or reduced postage

Ive had this recently, I sold an item and had no contact with the buyer so I chased this and still no contact so Ebay issued me a "seller refund" when I went to leave negative feedback it would not let me??? It only had the positive feedback section?? so i decided to put the negative comments there instead hoping someone will read in the future.

Its an error on Ebays behalf and I would really avoid such people from bidding and retract their bid along with adding them to your blocked list to prevent them bidding again.

Never ever ever ever accept a bid off anyone with either bad comments or hiding there feedback as it only leads to time and money being wasted as well as getting pretty p$xxed off in the process. Ebay is going down hill

Isn't this because the seller can't leave a buyer negative feedback??? So the only way to warn people is to leave the positive marker and write in how poor they were. Do you have other bids apart from this guy? If so I believe you can remove his bid.

If not it might be worth asking for a deposit or just getting rid of hom anyway

just got bids from these 2 guys so far - its only just started the auction anyway & is not up to the reserve yet so will just leave the bids & keep an eye on the bidders from now on :shifty:

you can ask for a deposit on ebay like various people have told you to do, but this does not mean that you will get it. i asked for a deposit on my old e30 tourer but never got it! this happened twice! then the 3rd time it sold, the buyer asked if it was ok to come and pick it up that evening so i didn't worry about the deposit that time.

Ebay is so full of messers now that it ruins it for us honest sellers and buyers! shame there isn't another auction site really, although even if there was, it wouldn't be long before the same happens again.
