Old and new style injectors and rails

I currently have old style injectors in my fuel rail, am I right in saying to run injectors with new style plugs I need a newer style fuel rail or an adaptor kit? Is there any advantage to having the newer fuel rail over the old?

no u can buy old style injectors 370/555/740/840/1000cc ... but they just have a different plug on the end think its the same as 98/99 s4 cars its more rounded than square type

Thanks Mark, what I was thinking just as I was about to order a new loom is that i'll have to change all the injector connectors as soon as I uprate the injectors so I would be better off getting a newer style loom now and just changing the standard injectors for the time being? Since I posted i've just realised that other things like the PTU and CAS might be different as well so i'd need the newer options on them as well. Any opinions on those thoughts?

PTU/CAS/INJECTORS plus will be different on the new loom

so if your on S1 electrics/loom just change the plugs over

if u get the Jcet injectors from cpz they come with new plugs with about 5" wire

The only thing I can think of that is pluss with the new style injector is that they tolerate E85.

The old ones don't like E85.

Thanks Trond but we don't run E85 in the UK as far as I know.

Yesterday I removed my fuel rail and have found two of the injectors have lost some of the cover off the end. Is this a problem, should they be changed?

Can anyone identify what series my CAS is?

Cheers Mark, I was searching for pintle caps and had no joy but just found them on Z1 as 'injector caps'

Hi I contacted coz at czp with exact same question, he said your better off changing to the new style injector as they cope with unleaded fuel better than the old style, he said the older style tend to fail a lot quicker due to the alcohol content in fuel,

So just on a reliability front the newer style is slot better

Not sure mate just thought I'd post what he told me, I believe there 93ron fuel is the same as our 98 fuel so should be same richness?
