Copy of Mike Feeney's report on From the 30th September

Results (late as always - don't know where you guys find the energy after the journey home!). Great day, weather held out, SCR seem to like us and name-checked everyone during the day from the crib sheet I gave Gerry first thing. It is now even suggested that competitors can have their own regular Z race number to remain the same from one meeting to the next. Regular attendees can then obtain a print out of the year's runs at SCR to see how they have developed!

In the Bracket Eliminator, John P. and Wyn were fastest qualifiers, so ran side by side Bye runs in the first round.

First true pairing in Round 1 was Paul vs Jon B. Paul had to chase Jon down, just getting past in time to back off to save a break out. Paul advanced to the semi-final to meet John P.

Second first round pairing was Nick vs George. The 240Zs clutch was slipping badly, so George had adjusted to a slower dial-in fully expecting to be on his way home. However, he pulled a good reaction time and ran to within 0.07 seconds of his 15.00 dial-in - good enough to just hold off the quicker 300ZX!

First semi-final saw the two Championship leaders meet, with John P. having to chase down a consistent Paul H. Paul crossed the line first but ran 0.02 seconds too fast to break out and give John a place in the final. John ran an almost unbeatable 11.688 on his 11.68 dial-in - Wow!

The second semi-final placed newcomer Wyn against George (late to the queue after scavenging the bins for another replacement catch can - Red Bull sponsored this time courtesy of Jon B.). Wyn ran to within 0.3 seconds of his dial-in, but George surprised himself to run his best time of the day, breaking out by 0.325 to put Wyn in the final against John P.

In the final, both competitors ran significantly slower than their dial-in times, but John was 0.33 seconds slower whereas Wyn was 0.46 seconds slower. Coupled with a slightly better reaction time, John took the win (no pun intended) and regained his lead in the Championship.

Apologies for the scruffy results sheet attached, but this was done on the fly in a strong tail wind!

Pity it wasnt held at Santa Pod.

there were potentially another 5 cars that might have entered.

And dont give me that old chestnut about queueing all day.

I had my four runs and a time summary by 10.30.

Thus leaving me free to enjoy the show for the rest of the day.

Marshalls and Santa Pod staff were as helpful as a helpful thing in general and the day went well(IMO)

I think we had around 12/14 cars in total.
