3 ENGINES IN 3 WEEKS!!! HELP

I have this problem, I buy an engine, hear it running %100, take it out and fit my clutch and fly wheel, put it in my car and change the oil cooler, and within about 100-200 miles it is knocking like a bast**d. In both cases all the parts were swoped with the engine, The only parts carried across to each engine, is my flywheel and my clutch. What is happening to these engines???? Any ideas!

or take the engine out(new engine) drop it on the floor dint sump, here there can be two faults!!

1.oil pump pick up now very close to sump resticting oil flow at high revs(boom)

2.loads of crud in sump the bang desturbs this lots of floating shite covers the strainer in the sump lack of oil(boom)

just a few more thoughts!!

it may be a shot in the dark, but since you mentioned the flywheel and clutch, you may suffer from "crankwalk".

Although crankwalk isn't common on VG30-engines, an improper balanced flywheel/clutch combo can have a destructive effect on the crankshaft/bearings...causing the engine to be killed within a few hundred miles.

Is it an aftermarket/lightweight flywheel by any chance ?

Are you using the standard oil cooler metal lines still Mark??? Maybe one of these is crushed? I reckon it's your driving wink.gif lol

The flywheel is an after market lightened one with an uprated clutch. It is made by a VERY VERY big and well known manafacturer. I hope it is not that, that is doing it. The engines blow before I get to the shows so it is 200 miles of road use, not in circles, (I wish). There has been new oil coolers fitted each time, and as far as I know the lines are all 100%. I will be getting engine number 4 fitted next week, and I hope that it is ok, I am getting tired of this, we have got it down to 2 hours, getting good!!!
