Rear Suspension - Fact or Fiction

Hi, someone was telling me at Billing, I can't remember who but he had a Red TT with nice 18" wheels (Ok so that could be anyone!!), anyway he was telling me that If you lift the handbreak up one notch, this stiffens up the rear suspension.

Is this true ?!?

right, to put all your minds at rest!!!! the reason for the rear suspention stiffening up when you put the handbrake on is just a test!

the real reason the shocks have actuators is that under full throttle acceleration the ecu stiffens the rear shocks to prevent suspention squat!

bloody clever realy saves wasting hp on compressing the shocks! now if it realy works is another matter.!

I leave the decision up to you!

kris,

now that makes more sense to me!!

That makes sense to me too but the wiring diagrams dont seem to show any connection for doing this. Maybe we can prove it by wiring in a LED to see if it is active suspension on WOT. Otherwise it only stiffens the car up when your parked with the ignition on and handbrake on. I can only see a limited use for this up dark alleys to stop the car shaking and I'm a bit passed all that now. Although I do harbour fantases about using the leccy seats in a creative way wink.gif
