According to the service history my car had a new radiator fitted 3 years and 9k miles ago when the auto to manual conversion was completed.

Unfortunately the viscous fan casing has been rubbing on the fins and has now holed the radiator, the fins of the radiator actually protrued past the radiator frame thus allowing this to occur.

I'm looking to get an aftermarket radiator that has the fins recessed so this won't happen again but also a radiator that will just slot straight in place with no modifications to anything else

It such a radiator available?

thats strange as even with aftermarket rads the fan is about 2" away at least and shouldn't have any rubbing

i would be looking at ... its not been fitted correctly

Ditto, post up a pic of whats fitted mate as you shouldn't have suffered that problem at all.

Don't have pics lads, was just informed this when I put the car in to get a coolant leak traced.

Agree it's been fitted poorly, that's what the garage said, but not much comeback 3 years later and by a previous owner.

So any advice on a nice oem fitment aftermarket rad?

So there are no aftermarket radiators that are oem fitment and require no mods?

perhaps they put it the wrong way round

Thanks mate but what happened before is not the issue now, that radiator is gubbed, I am just trying to source a new one.
