Well i have decided im selling the zed as i just dont use it, ill probably regret it but never mind.

I keep an eye on ebay and pistonhead's to see what they are making and they never sell for what they are worth so im 50/50 about breaking it or just advertisng it for weeks on end.

I wouldnt let it go for less than £3250 which ill probably struggle to get even though its a pretty clean uk TT manual.

My question is to the guys who have broken there zed's how much do you get back when you break them? would i get more if i stuck to my guns and went for the £3250 or would i get more in bits easier?

I really dont want to break it but im being realistic about the market we are in!

Your thoughts please.

couple of pic's any excuse!

Well I would like to think so but i see a lot of zed's nicer than mine for sale for ages and im wondering if it's just easier to break it fisrt as last. It needs a bit of welding for the MOT but nothing major just dont know if its worth it or not

How long is a piece of string???

If you think the market for cars is low priced then have a look at how little money parts are making(on this forum).

Parts are almost being given away.

Look at my threads... I have a nice tailgate ...nobody wants it No offers not even silly ones I didnt bother advertizing the doors i just stripped them and threw them away(weighed in). Leather seat set ... same thing not a single offer. etc etc

Nearly every other member has starters, altenators rads etc etc to sell.

Manual conversion kits fetch half the money they used to do.

People will want you to send cheap big things like wings to the opposite end of the country and then complain when they arrive with a tiny scratch on them.

Breaking a Z32 is hard work. Lots of space n time required

And even this forum has its fair share of time wasters who say they want bits but never actually send any money.

If a car sells then by definition the price it sells for is actually what its worth at that moment in time. No matter what the seller of anyone else thinks. Fact

Good luck with the sale of the Z Dave, you should have no problems selling that beauty! WAAAAY too good to break and you wont get anywhere near 3k from it.

Zeds are going through what nearly all modern-ish classics have gone through. The values dip right down, owners break then, the bits and the cars continue downwards. Cars get scrapped and lots of the parts become worthless. Then as time goes by no one really notices then one day they suddenly become a rare sight and the values start to climb and folk realise there arent as many left as they thought. The nice ones see their values level out. Then slowly climb. Or rapidly climb if youre luck.

Look at sierra cosworths 10/12 years ago. In 1999 I sold a tidy running jensen interceptor with a spares car for £1100....look at them now. I sold an motd 1971 v8 camaro for £850.... I wish i had them now. Sell it as a going concern. You"ll dump most of it if you break it

Thanks guys ill get the MOT work done next week and get it advertised then, hopefully ill get somebody interested and another zed will be saved. I really dont want to break but i do need a decent return from it.

where did you get the interior done? or was it DIY.. one hell of a job if it was! my fav interior i think i've seen on a zed.

Dont break it!

2 reasons, first, its too nice. Second, i cant see yougetting near £3k in parts. A year or 2 ago maybe, but the last one i broke i didn't get much more than £1000. Granted you have the wheels and interior which would sell for good money, but you'll end up giving the rest away.

Fancy a deal with my 328ti?

And i think i have a deal sorted with frazer i just need to get my finger out and get the work done for the MOT I may contact you about the S3 mind!

I have a 1991 MX5 just sat sorned on the drive, done just 6 miles since the last MOT almost now 12 months ago, does have 16 inch good tyred alloys and a black hard top and these alone could claw me back good poundage but would be a shame to sign it's death warrant :glare: finance here is secondary to losing a few hundred pounds.

Much rather sell as is than break - only break if it's totally fubared which the little hairdressers car isn't
