Hi welcome along there is a buyers guide some where on here I have the 300 NA its a lot less bother than the TT there a for's and against

if you don't want to have to spend money on the thing and enjoy the motor get one thats been looked after it will be a lot faster then the

100nx but only if you put ya foot down good luck in finding a good one

welcome along, sounds like the 300zx would be a good step up for you. they are a bit bigger than the 100, but have power steering and a goodd driving position so once you are used to the car you'll be wondering why you didnt get one before

Quick reference main points.

Make sure you take it for a 30min drive at least, once you get back, leave it idling and check to make sure it doesnt over heat, check the rear sills for rust, check the front inside the engine bay strut top weld joins for signs of rust. check for smoke, check it drives in a straight line, listen for any strange engine noises, bring the revs up to 2500 should give away if big end bearings are knocking, it should idle between 700 and 800 and sound smooth and not lumpy

With a manual box, make sure it doesnt grind when putting it in gear. then just check the usual stuff when buying a car, tax, mot, cam belt change date, tread depth.

And welcome to the forum.

Hi! I'm a girlie, tho I couldn't be described as petite. I have a tt on 19" rims so he can be a bit of a handful and you have to keep your wits about you, especially in the wet!! But it's a nice drive. Nothing is heavy or tiring. The main advice I can give is take time to get used to it before you go charging round roundabouts!!

Hi Lucinda,

welcome to the club!! You'll find everything you need 300zx related on here - not to mention countless other useless advice about life, the universe and everything else for that matter!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Did you by any chance have the airbrushed 100nx?

And handling the Z is fine, i've driven cars that have felt heavier (particularly newer BMW's) and not had much of a problem. i'm 5'6 so about average height, but i've had a load of lads give me funny looks driving my Z

As with any nissan, rust is the big issue :( theres loads of topics to help you find the problem, and even people will try to help as much as they can

Welcome, best thing to do is go and have a sit in at least or have a test drive in one. Bearing in mind that the Japenese are typically a fairly petite race, you should be fine for driving position!

There is no kidding that even SWB models are quite large, although not by modern standards. You will find its very wide compared to a 100nx. Also the things ive noticed as have my passengers over the years is how tall more modern cars are. A Focus or astra towers above a 300zx especially with lowered suspension

As much as the NA is still a great car, and there is more to go wrong on a TT i would say the benefits of having a TT far outway the downsides. Fuel consumption is about the same, however the performance of the TT is just streets away.

hi

if you are thinking of buying buy one from a club like this other wise you will spend a bucket of cash fixing it.

flee bay is a prime example of sheds being sold as palaces

cheers and welcome
