Hi everyone

Does anyone know whether you should be able to turn the pulley on the air con compressor (pump) by hand once it has been removed and is

lying on the workbench or is it really difficult, i.e doesn´t move even slightly ?

As always, any help greatly appreciated.

You should be able to spin the pulley using your hand, If it's locked up then the chances are that it's seized.

Exactly - it should turn pretty feely otherwise a plain old fan-belt would just slip and squeel as it tried to move the pulley in operation!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If you need a new compressor we have both series 1 and series 2 Hitachi models in stock tested and warranted, shipping parcels out to Germany next week can add you on the list if your quick.
