Im wondering, if after My Z is back to perfect, including respray etc.... and running 100% with no issues, what would it be worth?

its done 82,000KM. which is about 51,000 miles (guesstimate) one owner from new prior to me, with all original service books, and a totally original example, bar the stainless exhaust system.

I dont want to ruin a perfect example of an OEM JDM car. But I also want more power. hmmmm....

So was hinking if I sold it to someone who would appreciate it for what it is, once its all sorted, how much could I expect? I would like to use the funds from it, plus extra, to get a good condition Z, with mechanical issues, and invest in a complete forged engine, like the one for sale on here - and build up from that - to make it a perfectly reliable modified example.

I was thinking around 3500-4000 for a vehicle with new fresh, perfect paint work at that mileage, with its immaculate interior and reliability. What you think?

Sounds like a fair price for a good example low milage 300 Ryan but dont get caught up in the more power bug or you will spend a fortune mate. My swb has been chiped, boost jetted and a HKS mushroom filter by Jeff plus along with the bigger exhausts it should be around 350bhp which is a mild upgrade and is fast enougth for me and your not into big money plus its reliable along as you have a strong engine.

Sounds good, But I was also thinking I'd like a manual, and have no idea how to check how strong the engine is, but Im guessing its pretty strong lol. Also would preffer a SWB slicktop lol. Hence why I was thinking if I managed to do what I suggested, would save me over £1000 on manual conversion, and I could also go for the SWB slicky.

If you dont need the back seats then a swb is the way to go:thumbup:

Agreed:thumbup1:

And if you dont want to drive about in a greenhouse with removable roof then there is only one car to have!!!!!

:smartass::smartass:

By the time youve pumped in the cash to get it to the point your talking aboutvto sell your going to have spent a fair few pennies.obviously yours is a solid low miler however I think you would struggle to get what ud be wanting. You would be far better off using this as a solid example or hunting out one that already has say a forged engine and cutting your losses with the current one. Probally not what you want to hear im just being realistic.

To be honest, all it needs is a rear drivers side light and respray, which Im getting done for nothing. As my dad finally agreed to do it.

So its going to cost me all of £30 to make it perfect.

Dont think you will ever get 3500 - 4000 im afraid as these zeds never sell for what they are really worth.

That was the entire reason I posted this thread. Wondering do I sale now as is for around £1900, am I going to recoup anything by doing the extra work, although I can get respray at cost price, still going to be around £1000 by the time I add in mine and my fathers time we could spend at work, earning extra cash. - would I make 3k, and if so would it really be worth it, when Im going to have to do all the work again on a SWB slicktop Manual TT........

Seriously considering putting up a for sale thread now - but also thinking the right car for me isnt out there right now....

Is the paint work needing sorted then mate? It's a good example of an original zed, the problem with souped up bodykitted cars are that they are done to the owners taste. Not everyone will have those tastes so you are effectively reducing the number of potential buyers. You should be able to get a good price for yours. Good slicktops don't come up that often though so you may have a wait on your hands.

Best of luck what ever you decide to do.

Yeah, paint work defo needs doing, all the metal work is fine, its just the rubber rear spoiler, plastic mirrors, flaked of paint on the skirts, and paint peeled of on the corner of the rear bumper, but no physical damage to repair.

If the rear spoiler is holding water you may find rust underneath on the tailgate. I knew mine was holding water because my boot wouldn't stay up and when I finally removed the spoiler and replaced with the mid level one the boot shoots up

IMHO mate, there are many 300's out there on the market and finding one in a condition that suits your budget and plans cound potentially be a mine field. Just look at the posts where people have wanted a zed, bought a zed and within the week been on here asking how to fix the zed.

These cars unfortunatley are not yet in the field where there are so few of them that they demand 'good money' neither are they in the current economical climate that sought after. I would say that if you have managed to find and buy a good one; and if a zed is the car for you, keep it. You can always change the engine for a modded one if it's power you seek.

Good luck

Thats the thing, I dont want to mod he Zed I have, its a 2+2, Targa, I want a SWB Slicktop. and mechanically it doesnt matter, as I will be using a rebuilt forged engine in it. I cant justify a loan for a forged rebuild in a car, which isnt what I want it to be and never will be.

Its not a hyperthetical case of replacing the car, with a SWB Slicky, as thats an indefinate decision. Its a case of when, and what I should do with my current one.

In that case put the touches on if it will cost you that little enjoy it for what it is till your in a better position and find yourself a slickie

Go with your dream Ryan and get a slicktop. I like you had a LWB auto it was and still is a great 300 but I wanted a SWB and when a good one came up for sale in England I went for it. I still had the LWB as it took several months for it to sell (should of kept it) but in the end I got the money I wanted for it. So if you want something in life go get it mate and dont look back.
