That is a bloody good question and I have often wondered myself (saddo!) My only conclusion is that it could be for attaching the floormats to prevent them moving around as you get in/out. Any better ideas ?

Andy - didn't you have some OEM mats for sale? Not that I want them - just on mine, they have a hole on the rear edge in the middle which is where the hooks on the floor go through for the exact reason you describe.

So if yamabuki is talking about the same hooks, that's what they're for...

Thanks perhaps she will shut up now.

I had a feeling it might be for clipping a prince albert to, you know what the Japanese are like!!!!!!!!1

Excellent I've just ordered a pukka set of floormats, so now I have a hook so I don't lose them ! biggrin.gif

Yep, the standard Fairlady floormats have a hole with a metal ring that these little hooks hang onto. Presumably they're to stop your passenger bunching the mats up with their feet when you leave the braking 'til the last minute....;-)

Yep.defo for the original floor mats......the nice 1970 Pornstar Velour Fairlady Mats.....

Yeah, t'is indeed the reason for them, they do a good job too, the mats dont budge a cm when hooked up, where as with most cars the mats ended screwed up, facing sideways, etc.. smile.gif

Yeh they are for floor mats,,,my Fairlady had sum deep pile Fairlady Z mats in it when i got it ,,very nice :-))
