after any opinion form anyone with them really, changing my autobox and im putting another order in with z1 though i might get them,

six-shooter engine mounts

and solid transmission mount

i like the idea of the engine being part of the chassis and less movement, but surely Nissan would not have used rubber if they weren't important???

road noise vibrations etc don't bother me, my zed stupidly anti-social anyway. :shifty:

Went to fit gearbox mount for someone once, was on a z and was solid block of what looked like alloy.

Problem I had with it was the silly bolts so thin.

To me they looked like they would just snap has there is no flex.

Never fitted it used standard mount, so couldn't tell u how they are, but I would gave thought there needs to be some movement or somthing is gonna break.

I'm probley wrong and would work fine but I didn't like the look of it.

Goodluck.

a lot of the guys on driftworks forum use solid aluminium rear subframe bushes, but would say that solid mounts would be too harsh on a road car.i would say that a certain amount of flex in the bushes/mounts is required especially on a 20-odd year old chassis that might not like being locked solid.

So let me give you my opinion......

You are involved in Motorsport arent you so you may already know all this.

The idea of the engine/box being a part of the chassis is correct... See F1 and other single seaters. But it needs to be designed/built around that concept.

Nissan and all road car manufcturers use rubber and similar composite bushes to get acceptible levels of VNH in their products.

You may think your vehicle is harsh now... BUT you have no idea how much solid bushes will increase that... to what for most people is unaccetable levels of vibration and noise.

Then there is the problem that your shell isnt designed to take such levels of stress so it WILL crack near the solid mounts. FACT

ThatsOK you tell me.. Ill just weld on some reinforcing plates...

Nope ... it will just crack roud the reinforcing plates.

Thats all OK on a very limited mileage track car but no good for any sort of road car.

IMO.... IMO.... IMO

Ill get me coat......

that makes allot of sense thanks,

although i really don't care about noise or vibrations, no one on hears heard my zed properly, but lets leave it at every time it pulls into the work car park i set at least one of the new Nissan's alarms off. was funny for a while now the salesmen hate it lol...

never thought about the stress it would put on the rest of the chassis, and as its a daily drive i cant have that, i wont order them then, think ill just get a nismo tranny mount.

thanks, just got a bit carried away lol.

I've run solid mounts on all my supras and never had a problem slight harshness at 3200 rpm thats about it

handling improvment is well quite amazing to be fair

And i make them for the z as well just installing mine as we speak
