OK, I have traded the Stagea in for something else to use as my main vehicle. This is what has replaced it, what do you think? : -

Range Rover Vogue, 2002 plate as you can see. It's the 4.6 litre V8 beasty, and drives beautiful. Pictures taken today on a visit to KJZ32 Keith. Cheers for the day Keith, really enjoyed it.

Yeah, got my money back on it bud. It's one of the Range Rovers that were built when under the ownership of BMW, the mpg was increased significantly on them, time will tell......lol.

One of the very last P38's.

Glad you got sorted mate and you will be sitting high in that beast:thumbup:

Cheers Gary. I must admit I do like a high driving position, was so used to it with the ambo's....lol

Cheers bud, might have a word sometime....lol

Ooh! Very flash

Thanks Mandy, it is really nice, even the bloody headrests are electric.....lmao.

Nice replacement mate!

Cheers bud, I am well impressed up to now.

Awesome I really fancy one of those! Looks a great example. However if it's a BMW built car it will have the 4.4 v8 from the 7 and 5 series so 286bhp instead of 225 from the 4.6 rover v8.

Looks nice that Ian

far too posh to off road though... lol

Are you in the AA or RAC ?? Lol

Good choice Ian!! I love the Old School Rangies - especially a V8 - as they're both classy and class-less (and by that I mean country estate or council estate; it matters not; just like a VW Golf or Volvo XC90) at the same time.....

Best of luck with your new toy matey - and if it is the BMW engine then ignore the reliability issues as it will be just fine!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Ah right, mine is the 4.6, however with BMW owning Rover at the time they made a lot of changes to all engines, for example they changed the antiquated Lucas fuel injetion system and replaced it with the far superior Bosch system on all Range Rovers. I have managed 21 to the gallon from when I picked it up from Ainsdale/Southport with a run to Corwen to visit KJZ32, I thought that was quite good myself for such a size of car.

i too have worked on many many of these. one of the easiest cars to remove the engine or the heads as they do blow for the fun of it. most common cause to watch for is leaky heater matrix pipes. you will see water in drivers footwell so keep eyes open. good motors though:)

They do seem quite easy to work on, I just wish I could see over the bonnet from my wheelchair.....lmao.

Nice car Ian mate, gonna be king of the road in that mate! (and skint!!) lol

lol, cheers Rich, was already skint though....

Cheers Baz, it looks as good as the photo's, it has been well cared for. Defo too posh for off roading.....lol, although to get to Keith's is down a farm track.

Yep, RAC

Nice car Ian, this one should definitely be big enough for you

Hope so bud....lol

Cheers Richard, and I have to say, it was Jr. who talked me into one, I have always liked them, but was a little afraid of the fuel consumption issue on older models, my neighbour had an early model, and it was terrible. Jr. researched them for me, and put over a very good argument for getting one, nothng to do with the fact that he has wanted one since he was knee high to a grasshopper....lol. I am glad he did talk me into it now though, it is such a beautiful vehicle to drive. I know what you mean with it being at home just about anywhere these days, and you get a lot of car for your buck.

Richard:thumbup1:

its not the bmw engine if its 4.6. 4.4 was the bmw one like stated before. just look after it and im sure all will be fine

Yeah it's the 4.6 bud, but like I say BMW did a lot of alterations to all Range Rover engines. I am going to really look after it, it should last a very long time if treated well. As I am in the dog house with the Mrs, it will have to stay a long time.....lmao.

I thought you were taking the lawn mower instead, come on, a deals a deal:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hmm after some routing about, doesnt look like you could get a P38a with the BMW V8, I was sure I had seen some at the change over! Obviously loosing it.

So very interesting then you managed 21mpg out of it on a run thats better than i thought! Hmm suddenly looking even more appealing, dam you! :D

I'm going to have to pinch it off him while he's away, blew the Passat up today:crying:
