so you lot of clever dicks ,,,,on my uk zed why do the rears run 45s and the fronts run 50s,,,im guessing its because the rears are 254 and 50s may rub the arch ,,what do you all think

Its because the tyre profile is a percentage of the width, not an actual measurement. The rear tyres are wider so you run a smaller percentage profile to keep a similar diameter to the fronts.

The profile number cooresponse with the width,so on the front the profile is 50% of the width of the front tyre,while the rear profile is 40% of 245,as the rear tyre is wider if you put 50 profile tyres on it would look odd and be out of sync,with the front rolling radius,basically because the rear is wider than the front the profile ratio on the rear is lower
