OK, maybe I am just getting use to her now, but I am convinced that my tt just is just simply not right.

Don't get me wrong, she boosts fine and generally pulls great through the gears but she lacks that expected kick in the back, if you know what I mean?

I am starting to miss judge over taking due to the difference to what I feel should happen and what actually does. It's getting embarrassing tackling the middle of the range cars now. I dare not even consider taking on the likes of Audi's or Jag.

One thought has crossed my mind though, my exhaust system is stock and probably 10 years old now, and when I was stripping my rear break pipes, the exhaust system was leaning against the wall. I never thought much of it at the time, but when I re mounted the exhaust I could not help but notice it was full of water. No matter which way up I had it, I could not get it to run out. Could the exhaust be blocked in some way and causing the lack of power? Here's hoping.

Good chance you have a det sensor circuit issue so your in safety boost, do not be fooled by the boost gauge either.

Quick ConZult will show this or you can do your own diagnostic test for the same, search it on google will come with pics and everthing you will need to know.

OK Jeff, so far I have found that if I had a break in the circuit or a faulty sensor,I would get code 34. Would this be a correct assessment?

I have checked with data scan but have found no faults.

So is it possible that I have a faulty connection somewhere that would cause poor performance without a fault code being thrown up?

It would be great to feel what I believe to be the full potential for real. Trouble is, how do I get to clean the connector???

You aren't a cylinder down or anything? I thought mine run reasonably well but had a very slight splutter, turned out it had a faulty injector. Much quicker and smoother now.

Not a cylinder down Baz, (mores the pity) at least then I would know where the problem is.she runs really smooth!

also I have run power balance using data scan, it allows me to switch off the ignition signal to each plug 1 by 1, all are fine.

Maybe she is fine, and I just don't know how to drive the thing. Not convinced mind,

she does not seem any quicker than my 2.8 Capri to be honest.

Oooops! am I allow to say Capri on here?

I had 6 Capris.......best one was a signal orange mk3 1.6S that ended up with a fully tuned 2.1 pinto with twin 45 dellortos and an RS2000 diff.......went like a rocket. The blokes I worked with at the time used to call it The Tangerine Torpedo!!! :)
