I went to nissan today to see if I could get the pipe between the IAAV valve and the balance bar as mine has gone brittle and broke, I have used a pipe similersize and shape but these have been no good. so I decided to bite the bullet and buy the correct pipe for it.£18.00+the vat for a bit of rubber hose 4"inche's long and its in Amsterdam so it wont be here untill 4th of july ,I nearly took a heart attack there in the dealership,

And I had to show the lad how to find it on they're epc.as the bloke did'nt know what he was looking for.

But I will give him his due he did'nt tell me "oh it is'nt a uk model we can't do that" like alot of dealers would. so fair play

For the past thirt-five years I've worked in dealership parts departments and we do get a bit blase' about the price of things. When I can quote £1000 for a Legacy cat, £360 for a Scooby A/F sensor, £1000 for most Merc ECUs /modules - anything under a £100 these days almost seems like a good deal :whistling:

While some customers will happily (honest) pay upwards of £65 for three Scooby wiper blades, others will make a bee-line for the nearest scrappy if the price doesn't meet with their approval.

Some of our parts prices are extortionate - some are surprisingly cheap........but we don't set the prices.......Mercedes, Subaru, Audi et al do :innocent:

i run a Nissan parts dept. now, but when i first got my zed took it to a dealer in Bolton, and he asked me... "is it a renualt?" after coming out to the car park and looking at it.

bought a complete set in silicon for $44 from z1 for mine,

its really annoying as we have very little influence on parts prices,

It was the same at the vauxhall dealership where I worked in the parts dept, but as an employee of the dealership I used to get an amazing discount on Vauxhall parts. I need to get me a job in a nissaqn dealership, lol

i run the parts dept for a New holand dealership. and parts for tractors, combines etc are bloody extortionate! i try to discount down as much as possible but there still dear! and its not the fella sitting in an office in italy somewhere that sets the prices, that has to justify them to the customer over the counter! its me that gets the "HOW MUCH!!!!!!" all day lol

Fully agree - i heard this "ouh, its jap! Sorry no parts here..." so many times it makes me angry! ITS THE SAME FOOKIN' CAR! :)

I went to get a aircon pod as mine as no temp adjusting knob for my convertible they quoted £800 i said i can get from states fora right hand side for $50 plus shipping .

Nissan dealer (william a lewis)in Shrewsbury is very good for parts and gives a bit of discount .Never had any problems with parts from there.Ask for Nick on the parts counter.:thumbup1:
