My £50 Quid Engine :)

i picked up an engine some time ago for £50

thought it will come in handy some day ... but it was unknown / low compresion

anyways started to take it apart to day Noticed that the Lower timing Sprocket was out by 2 teeth

and once i tuck the head off it cam clear why it wasnt running to good

 

all so in the 3rd pic would you say this has been rebuilt before ? as that looks like honing marks to me

    Definately honing marks........ive recently got a spare engine to rebuild and no.6 is the same as yours but not as bad, just a bit on one side but enough to drop compression on that cylinder.
