Ok Ive been suffering from a rattle now for a few months so after the garage couldn't find it on 3 occasions i got my car up on the kerb and slid under neath (nose against petrol tank)

 

well I found the rattle, there is a rubber type bung fitted to both exhausts and it is quite loose when you move it, it has a piece of metal on it that was knocking agaisnt the exhaust, I just pulled it to one side, is it anything important? Im thinking temp sensor?

Is it like a metal arm?

If so that is meant to be attched onto the car.

no its a lump of rubber there is one on each exhaust and they are both just as loose. i can wrap my hand around it, about 1.5times the size of a golf ball
