Is there any way to check if the MAF is working properly or not?

I had it out today out I have a feeling it might have got wet recently. Also where's best to buy them?

Do you have poor idleing/running? If you do then unplug the MAF and drive the car if the problems go then the MAF is at fault if not look else where. Will only rev to 2500 with MAF disconnected.

as above mine did this, it was doing as you say and it just got worse and worse, until it felt like the car was constantly and randomly misfiring etc. i spent a fair while cleaning connections and getting quite annoyed.

my little daily corsa did it aswel, it would hit about 2k and hit a brick wall. then cough splutter but it was ittermitent ie dangerous. diconnected it and it solved it. my mate recons it was the fastest corsa he had ebver been in with it off lol. it was crap on feul like it though.

you will have to disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the ecu though afterremoval else it will not show you a thing.

Thanks guys, the idle was a bit rough but calmed down now (I had put the tps back down to .44 as suggested by someone), the unplugging of the MAF would be no good if I can't rev over 2k as the problems I'm getting happen above that. Basically hen I'm driving on boost a seem to be hitting a brick wall at certain times and feels like the car just won't boost any further, a little scary to be honest.

The MAF looked like it might be a little damp inside but it was a shitty day. It's done the same thing before though when it's been a nice day

Wouldn't the ECU throw a fault code if you put it into diagnostic mode or connected Conzult?

If you a copy of the factory service manual go to page 110 in the EFEC chapter for MAF diagnostics. It's available online somewhere, I think on TT.net.

If you need a .pdf then message me

What's wrong with your car to make you think the MAF is faulty?

At around 3k to 4k revs (only when on the move) the car seems to stutter/ stop me going any further. Not sure what it is though, perhaps the fuel cutting out. It's very strange
