Well, what can i say, apart from stalling it once LOL (new that was coming), pulling over into sainsbury's car park to watch the oil burn off the gearbox and what ever else i managed to get caked in gearbox oil and set the timing as i didnt do the neutral switch bypass.

Once that was all sorted, and still stinking a bit from the gearbox oil being burnt off. i thought id give her a try in a nice large empty carpark, holy poop, haven't felt that kinda power since my cherry red zed, the gears are nice and clunky and the box sounds like its been stolen from a british touring car for some reason lol, ooh and i get a nice little burble when lifting of the gas. temps are also doing very good as well.

so after playing around in a carpark for 20mins and scaring my self half to death (she really does feel very light now, not like the lumbering beast the auto box made her feel like) and now that all the power that is supposed to, is actually going from the engine to the rear wheels, think ill just lay off the boost when the kids are in the car

Anyway, have to say, thats the first 20mins of fun ive had in my zed since i got it. now to sort out the body work issues, some new rubber for the rears, engine bay tidy up, and also noticed i need to change at least one of the rear subframe bushes (leaked all over my exhaust), im positively in love again with my 300zx.

had one on my cherry red one, so feels the same as that lol, but its surprising just how much power that autobox was robbing from me, feels like a completely different car, fantastic box and flywheel, clutch is heavy as hell so really need to get that T'ed in soon as possible before i break my ankle changing gear lol

Yeh!!!! well done Vods, Must admit I remember the 1st time I had mine out after the conversion, I was grinning from ear to ear and shaking like feck with adrenaline ~!!! whooooo!!!

RPS streetmax clutch, pretty much a rps clutch housing with resurfaced OEM friction disk. tomorrow going to go get a T junction and T into the brake booster. unless someone has a chrome TT manual balance bar they want to swap for Auto chrome balance bar.

Have got a black manual balance bar if you are stuck for one.dont forget a one valve before the booster if you do tee into the brake servo vacuum line.

and putting the bolts in on the box ...

slave cylinder

redoing the clutch

]... lol

i still managed to get the exhaust off, old gearbox off, prop shaft off, and fit clutch pedal, break pedal, flywheel, clutch res, helped with gearbox, and gearbox bolts, then after ya left i managed all on my own lol, the starter motor, the exhaust (and that is a pain in the royal arse to get on) sort out that split hose (fecking thing) get it off the ramps, top it back up, fill the gearbox with oil plus surrounding flooring.

all while feeling like pap from being ill, not eating for 3 days due to said illness and being technically "hi" from energy drinks lol

Well chuffed for you bud. There's always light at the end of the tunnel!

Mark, that's seriously impressive! I'm a tad jealous as mine wouldn't fire :(. So engine out, rebuild, back in. How long did that take yi?

nice one Ian ....the touring car sound will be same issue i had the gearbox gearlever under gaiter has come off the lip from the hole in the bodywork above the gearbox....sounds like my old Mini 1380 gearbox with the dog cut gears i had in there ......

now thats hard to say ... would guess around a week ... but my working time was spred over evenings and waiting on machine shop with there time ... and waiting for stuff

And to think my engine has been at the garage for over a year now. :(

why what u doing to it ?

My engine came out on 21/22may .

Stripped day/two after

bits was at the machine shop for about week/bit

Ordered bits on 1st june

bits arrived 7th ...

had engine back in that time and started the mods Porting/polishing

engine fully rebuilt on Tuesday 13th

u know the rest

so the work was done over two weeks ... but alot of waiting/wasted time

would say about a week & half worth of work if i had all parts at hand and engine work done sooner
