I've finally got the Z to run right with no air leaks. The oil leak is also cured but the water leak is still a pain in the backside.

Its a drip coming from the centre of the back of the engine somewhere and i can't see where though are there any common places for a Z to spring a leak from?

Like i said its not pouring out just dripping

either water feed pipe to turbo or from the heater matrix pipes on the back of the block mate, get your self some forte cooling conditioner it will turn your collant neon green, makes it much easier to find the source of leaks.

good idea... you may then have to take the plenum off to get to the little pipes under there.... good time to do the egr and water pipe removal...

so its a plenum off job? crap i was hoping it wasn't :( could it be done from underneath on a ramp?

not with a gearbox in the way

its not that bad removing the plenum bud, looks worse than it is, and if you do the water bypass while its off, you dont have to feck about with all those little pipes when it comes to refitting it.

just want to fix the leak i was wondering if i could bypass the little plenum pipes with it in place. I have a diagram of how to connect the Turbo water lines missing the plenum pipes. Don't want to go to mad in case i can't get it back together again.

quick question but why so worried about pulling the plenum, it really is one of those jobs where everyone says "its a PITA" when really what they mean is, "once you get those small water pipes off and the egr side pipes off, and undo the pipes holding on to the PVC valves, it really is a peice of cake"

ok just finished doing the plenum bypass. New hoses and clips fitted and guess what ...

Drip, drip, drip

I think this car really is beating me :surrender:

Where else could my drips be coming from??

It must be the heater matrix pipes at the back of the engine then, they connect to outlets on the fire wall. Check the clips as the pipes sometimes split there. Not a big job to change really.

I hope not.I did take a look at them and they seemed ok. I'm just crapping it incase its a rear core plug or something.

put some talk around the heater pipes, that should make it clear whether it's them on not....

you could have put new/better clips/clamps on them when you had the chance...

get the neon green in as said, get asheet of cardboard and put it under the car, then follow the drop mark up the block. there isnt much back there other than the afore mentioned.
