Paint or vinyl wrap??

Whats peoples thoughts on the 2options?

I know that realistically paint would be the natural option but would a vinyl wrap really be worth the money over a paint job?

Personnally ive always wanted a mirror chrome candy apple red paint job. Starting at the bottom as chrome effeft then fading into chrome candy red and back to chrome at the top.

In paint this would be around the 6-8k price mark.

So if the same effect was say 2-3k in a vinyl wrap with a 10yr life span would it be worth it and would it look as good?.

paint is a much better finish (if done properly) i've had my zed looked at by both a vinyl wrapper and a body-shop, and i've been quoted about the same for each, (going metallic gold *OEM gold)

wrapping wont be door shuts or boot etc, and they can only get certain colors. and if the body's not perfect will show all the marks,

where as paint they strip the car first so any marks can be sorted for a much smoother finish

That's what I was thinking too - so paint for me as well......:thumbup1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

this RX7 in chrome wrap, at a distance it looked fantastic. but up close it was horrible at the joins, the owner said it was the worst decision he had made, not due to the company doing the work, but because it just doesnt have the same durability as paint does.

I've not seen enough wraps to have a real opinion but I reckon there is defo a future for vinyl wrap. Technology will improve, techniques will improve etc. there are so many lambos, Aston martins etc that have been wrapped that it can't be bad.

Personally, I'd go paint. I don't think I'd have the guts to gamble

so far to the best of my knowledge none of them leave the factory like that however which tells me something ;)

Paint for me 100% I wouldnt even consider wrap!
