Having a debate with my mind latley. I love my zx but i think my age is showing through.

Im not feeling the need or want for the rock hard drive that i have and are thinking of selling and getting a 350z.

But keep thinking that as soon as it goes i will regret it. Ive been to hell and back getting it back on the road and have put almost 20k in her in mods and repairs.

I know another 4k will probably see it finished but really dont know if i should keep putting money in or just sell as it is.

If your finding it rock hard why not get some less aggressive shocks and springs and see if that helps. Be a shame to sell her when you've done so much.

problem is you will never get decent money in the current market.

350z is a nice car, but it will depreciate in value and wont go back up, as so many were made, and they were also made easily available to every tom dick and harry.

the 300 on the other hand is already rock bottom in price, it can only go up now, soon as the recession is over and people stop trying to save money on fuel, it will start increasing in value :)

(1) Return your 300 to stock

(2) Sell the upgraded bits in order to re-coup some of what you've spent

(3) Use that money to go towards a tidy low mileage (and pleasant to drive) 350z

(4) Enjoy life without the stresses and strains of pumping more money into a 20+ year old money pit

(5) Sit back and watch the next owner undertake the same journey that you've just completed

(6) Take comfort in the fact that you are now a 'sensible' member of the z-club

or not....it's your choice mate

What does it need to finish your Z off? 4k is a lot, you can 'almost' buy a 350z for that, so sell some goodies off your ZX and buy a 350z, and store the ZX until you feel the need for speed that the non-turbo 350z wont give you

Why dont you just revert the suspension back to standard, I'm getting old too thats why I got rid of the coilovers and went back to stock, and I have'nt regreted it, in fact i LOVE DRIVING IT now. Tbh when Nissan first made the Z the suspension was good enough for it then so why not now, unless of course your tracking/drifting etc. Its your choice, but I think you'll regret it. (Btw I've got some more standard suspension if you need it:laugh:)

what coilovers have you got? some are harsher than others. and what ride height you running? maybe it just needs setting up better softer settings may transform the cr to a more comfortable ride.

Ive got hks hypermax d coilovers on. Problem is it needs the stiff suspension for the wheels i have on it. I really would'nt want to change the wheels as there are really nice looking on it.

If i could get same wheels in nissan fitment(mine are off a toyota supra) then i could fit some standard suspension again.

The nearest wheels ive seen to mine were on DavesZed car. It was almost the same looking as mine, lol.

its in need of a very little bodywork to smooth off and a full respray. would be a very nice zed then.

I'm assuming your 300 is turbo?

I have a 350z and a 300zx N/A, both are lovely to drive, the 350 is certainly more refined, but the 300 drives lovely and the seats are awesome!

I think the two are so different though as cars. I'd miss the look of either if I got rid of one.......

I think if your looking for something with less problems etc then the 350 is the way to go, but that's if you can put up with missing the unmistakeable boost of the zx tt....

Personally after having two 200sx with over 300 bhp go pop and require big repairs, I was cured of the addiction, hence the two N/A replacements.

On a separate note entirely, now is not the time to sell a big engine car...... Let the economy run its course till these things are back up with their well deserved 5k+ price tags :)

Good luck with your decision mate :)

I actually find that my bike (r6 yam) gives me more of a buzz than the cars, and you don't have to go anywhere near as fast to achieve the same result. But I like bikes :)

going from a true Japanese muscle car like the 300 and into a 350 you'll feel the need to add some power, tighten the suspension and it will become an even bigger money pit... and one day a 300 will pull along side you and you'll regret ever selling yours...

this is from experience "borrowed" a sales 350 while my old zed was off the road, drove it for less then a week before i started hating it. and the 370 is worse.

(im sorry all the 350 owners nothing personal just really hate driving them)

No offence taken :)

We all have our own preferences :)

I agree that it doesn't have oodles of power, but it does do better mpg and feel faster than the N/A 300 :)

I'm sure I'd get my ass handed to me by a 300tt but I'm just not that bothered about having the fastest car on the Tarmac anymore. :)

i wish that was a option.

sorry, it was a pedantic answer... ive just sold my porsche 924 turbo for similar reasons...

if I could have Id have locked it up in a garage as they are going up in price..

I stayed with the 300 because of the back seats i can take my kids out. If I had the 350, it would probably stand still.

I also changed my suspension for the BC coilovers, ride height is where I want it but the settings are soft.. My back cant take these stiff rides anymore..

I also love this forum which makes owning the zed part of a social environment. I can take the kids and wife along and all made to feel welcome..

Not sure what your circumstances are, but certainly makes the decision for you at times..

Its a beautiful car, I reckon it will break your heart to let some one else drive off in it?

I think maybe trying out a 350 z that might be a good idea. Any offers, lol.

Be cheeky and go to a garage and ask for a test drive... lol...

That's a good idea.

I like the 350 but think the 370 is loads better.

If I'm honest though, I think why look for something else if you've spent so much and only need a bit of paint. Unless your just generally fancying something else

Was speaking to a few 350z owners tonight at a local meet. They have all said the same, a 359 over a 300 is a dissapointment. But they changed car for same reason im thinking about with it... its age.

My z is now 22 yr old, now compare that to a 8yr old car and which is gonna last me the longest now.

I like the interior of the 350, but exterior looks the 300 is way nicer.
