KEEP IT SIDEWAYS BABY!

Hi Jay, yet again we're having similar problems. Mine needs a good flush. The levels seem to drop quite regularly although the expansion tank is always full...(?) Think my A/T fluid is OK though...

LMK what you find and I'll do likewise - maybe we could do a group buy on head gaskets :-(

Cheers

A small amount of oil on the top of the water is not abnormal. Check the oil filler cap and the end of the dip stick for white sludge - this will tell you if you are getting water in the oil. As Macca says, the auto box oil coller is in the end tank and if this starts to leak you will get atf in your coolant.

Rob - try replacing your rad cap with a known good one - sounds like this is your problem...

Thanks Andy! I'll see if I can get a replacement from the amazing Halfords... (nah sorry mate we don't sell them).

Let me know.

cheers.

ive got no water in my oil so its not the head.looks like superfly guy is right !gearbox levels seem ok tho.thanks guys

No water in the oil does not necesserily mean that the head/gasket is OK. I had a cracked cylinder head which filled the coolant system with oil suddenly one day. For 6 months prior to this there was a slight oil film at the top of the radiator filler cap.

Don't want to worry you, but!!!!
