Hi

I am wondering about buying some hood vents. (GTR vents) I have a problem that the engine gets a bit hot when the weather is warm.

I don't have the platsic shield under the engine anymore. Could this cause the hot engine problem that the hot air gets pressed up during driving?

All this talk of aero......

If someone has a model they're happy to lend me (1/18 or (1/10), I'll put it in my wind tunnel and get results to prove either way :)

With the software I have I can measure air speed, calculate downforce and drag values And I also have smoke for visuals.....

Hats if you want some definitive results :) (dependent on accuracy of model of course)

Water should not be a problem if you place the vents beside the engine and also not directly above the turbo/manifolds.

But if it was over the engine wouldn't the water kill some of the electricals? Like the coilpack connections etc? Always wants some vents but thought it might cause problems somewhere or other.

Mine lives outside all it's life through summer winter etc... Never had a problem with water getting over the electrics.. Both my vents are above the turbo's, on the drivers side you can see one of the fuse boxes, cruise control system which if it rain's water goes stright over the lot!! The fuse box cover does the trick tho and water just runs off it...
