HI took my zed out yesturday started up fine drove from one side of town and back and it died made a pop from the the exhaust s .

got a tow back home and checked timing belt thats fine .it wont start turns over i can smell petrol ...ptu anyone:no:

could be a number of things......might be worth checking all the connectors (ptu, maf, coolant temp sensor etc etc) under the bonnet and cleaning them up as they are prone to going green and furry!, could be something as simple as that.then check you have got a spark and go from there :)

Do you have a S1 or S2 PTU, S1 has the metel fins on it is rather square as well, the S2 PTU is smaller, almost diamond shape ish.

 

Id start at the PTU connectors, the CAS, then coilpacks, then spark plugs. Does sound PTU ish though

well the ending was........ptu ....connectors where corroded so cleaned up and she starts ......hoorar...thanks

your next job is to do the ptu re-location.... if you still have a series one it is a good idea...
