ON THE ELECTRICS SIDE HOW EASY WOULD IT BE TO INSTALL ANOTHER SET OF HEADLIGHTS ON A ZED?

the body work doesnt seem too much of a problem, then again lol

the headlights are probably the worst part of a 300zx imo,

has anyone ever used another headlight on their zed???

just curious.jay

everyone has their opinion..which i always respect.

you got to admit they are crap tho,the worst ive ever had on a car at night, high and low beam...... and yes ive seen the XENON HID UPGRADE upgrade kit.

it was just me wondering if anyone had changed the lights?

they are crap for light output... but I agree with pete they look great and really suit the car.

so what lights are you planning to fit? you seem to think bodywork side of it is easy, not sure how hard you think it is to crimp on some new connectors lol.

The better option is fitting hid's, can't say I've seen any other headlight style in the zed that doesn't look pants and ruin the whole look of the car.

you got to keep the original housing imo.

but you could remove internal lenses and put something else in there with HIDs.....

unfortunately that's a real car, you would be better off getting either a HID kit, or modifying the existing lights, but im not sure on the legality on that.

i wasnt planning on doing anything bud, just curious.jay

for anyone with the hid kit.was it worth it?

Its the first thing I ever did to my original car.

i went out the week I got it in the evening and frightened myself silly.

Bought the HID kit that same week.

Even Nissan thought it was a good idea cos they fitted them in the very late cars.

My first zed never had a hid kit, and i never went out after dark after the first time i did it. blooming hell i like to see where im going, every zed ive had since then has had the hid kit, so much better.

the main reason im asking is ive had my zed since 94 and its been off the road the last 7 - 8 years, now the kids have paper rounds ive got time and money to bring it back.its getting the engine sorted, new tubs, new electrics, full new cream leather interior and a respray.

but my biggest hate was the headlights and rear lights...........

carefull what HID kit you buy.

ask njmwolsley about problems that are 300zx specific. he did tell me, but i forgot exact details...

clean the lenses , they may look clean, but until you take them apart then you will see a layer of fine dust, once done makes a huge difference, then go for HID, and light up the night.

to be honest i find my zeds headlights to be good at night, not hid's or anything just standard :)

For crap headlights you should try a Calibra at night!!! :(......very bad!

I can sort of see this working if they cut the front fender in such a way that it wouldn't look so much lower than the rest of the car. Don't particularly like it, but I do get it.

i can actually see that working if they just left it alone and put a 6k hid kit on it
