I thought it was about time that I started a build thread for my SWB TT manual, as my old LWB TT manual build was a big fat failure (read: ended up getting cut up into bits on my driveway and carted off to the scrappy in the back of a pikey's transit van!!)

I figured that this time, rather than give a step by step commentary of its progress (which can be depressing when progress comes crashing to a halt) this time I decide that I'd build it first and when it was pretty much ready to hit the track, only then would I write it all up afterwards..

Here's the old girl as of yesterday afternoon, about 99% ready to rock:

Looks absolutely stonking Pez... very unique!

and a spec list to die for!"

Very nice and mean looking track killer, the forged engine spec is mahoosive, me wants... I think somehow you will be pulling a few more horses than the reliable 550 you mentioned :D!! but who need`s any-more!!! perfect.

Cant help but think you need some UK front corner light units, yours look abit odd as they are the only white bit at the front. :)

Yeah already onto that mate, the ones currently fitted were put on there temporarily to test the circuit in order to isolate the small electrical fault that we found

I've got these to go on tomorrow

Due to work commitments overseas and allsorts of other issues this has been on the back burner since last year however I thought I'd give a quick update on this as I've had time to tinker recently.

The intention for 2013 was to commit to a full season of TA however due to my now being officially classed as a disabled driver I couldn't just sign on on the day and get my National B non-race licence like most. I discussed the situation with BMSAD (British Motorsport Association for the Disabled) and was put in touch directly with the MSA department who would be dealing with my application. Unfortunately it would appear that 6 months advance notice is not sufficient time for submission and review of medical reports etc and I am still waiting on confirmation of a med board

Either way the delay has been a bit of a blessing in disguise as I ended up flying to the US on a last minute contract so would have missed round 1 at Cadwell anyway. The decision has therefore been made to spend this year focusing on getting the setup of the car as best as can be and running with the current engine and an assortment of tyre options. I'll be relying heavily on the guys at Hereford Tyres for their support, expert advise and constant use of their HUNTER system.

Confirmed sponsors to date: Oracle (SP) Ltd, Hereford Tyres, Mikina Precision Engineering, J&R Recovery, Hereford Muay Thai (MMA Universe)

This will be an interesting year as and when I can find the time to run it on track, next year we'll be looking at upgrading to something a bit different :ninja:

A real ambassador for the ZED and this forum matey, well done. This is the kind of alternative advertising the 300 needs. Show car's and motorsports. Love it.

Looks great Pez, what do you mean upgrading to something a bit different next year? Different for the Zed or different vehicle?

Different vehicle mate. I won't necessarily get shot of the zed straightaway but I've got my eye on something and already have the all important long haired general's approval

Two friends of mine, Pete KH and Jamie have always been Radical, Porker and lovers/owners of Italian exotica. Jamie has owned several Radical's over the years, whilst Pete has always favoured the Porsche (I owe a lot to both of these guys for helping me set up my company and securing some tidy contracts). Pete actually came in 4th and 3rd in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge races that he entered at Donnington Sunday before last in his Parr Motorsport sponsored 911 GT3.

Anyway for years now they've both been trying to lure me away from my fixation with Jap metal but I've always stood firm, adament that I'd never been too keen on Porkers and that Ferarris' were just flashy Fiat's!!

All I'll say is that this piece of kit is a bit special whilst still remaining perfectly road legal :shifty:

let us know when the Zed's coming out to play

Well it's off the stands now so we're heading in the right direction at least

After spending most of the morning making absolutely no progress at all with regards to the VG's running issue I figured I'd take a time out and make a new centre panel. The new panel should (a) fill the gap and (b) give me a place to fit the internal battery cut off switch. The air con is long gone but I thought that a perforated panel would make a good alternative to a solid panel as I could still benefit from the cold/hot air blowing through it from the heater.

It's not quite finished yet, I'm in two minds as to whether I should paint it or leave it as it is. It's galvanised so shouldn't rust and apart from fixing in place with a couple of allen bolts and maybe fitting a short strip of rubber edging along the bottom to tidy it up it's pretty much there.

the running issue has got me well and truly stumped though and I reckon it may be due to a cracked manifold on the passenger side.....we'll see

Hello chief, the bumper is a urethane GTZ-R that I imported from Stillen about 6 years ago. I've modified it and made the front opening higher and lower openings shallower to accomodate the Greddy 3 row fmic and long Arc oil cooler, the side canards are home made/modified jobbies' made from carbon fibre
