Alternator Mounting Bolt Size

Hi guys,

I seem to have lost the nut that holds the alternator on, anyone know the size I need or is it a special type I'm best getting from Nissan?

Cheers, Rob

alright rob, think its gonna be 15mm ish? best to just slide out the bolt and pop down to your local fixing place. you can actually reach round the alt and get a spanner on it to hold it in place while you do it up with a ratchet from the front. once youve got a few turns on the spanner will jam in place until your done and can pop it off. if you want a hand im about on saturday?

Cheers for the offer mate, I need to sort it tomorrow really as I drive it to work every day! Think I'll nip down to the Nissan dealer and get a nut, I don't really want to remove the bolt as the belt doesn't seem to loosen off that much so might be a shitbag to get back on.

Really had enough of this car now!

lol yeah i went through that stage, it ended up on a low loader about 5 times nearly every time i took it out it wouldnt come back under its own steam lol. youve driven it to germany and back mate dont forget and it didnt shit the bed during that, so that does tend to say at least the block is healthy. just niggly little ******* things that happen.

i wrote myself a list in the end and stuck it inside my wardrobe, then crossed stuff off as i went, bloody list is still there lol. but it has got alot smaller.

iirc the alternator nut has piece of right angle steel welded to it, which holds it in place..
