Featured Replies

ECU's come in 3 forms ...

Remapped-Chipped ECU ( chip solded directly to board ) try and avoid

Socketed ECU ( chip can be taken out replace/remapped easy ) one to have for future upgrade

Piggy Back ECU ( Chipped vir another solded on board with Normal/sport switch ) kinda rare

yeah ive actually been toying with the idea of having him do it if he doesnt charge the earth, as he has all the stuff to do it and il know its done correctly. ive done a compression test on teh block fairly recently, however id like to do a leakdown just to be sure. dont wanna break it now do i lol.

whilst were on the subject boost gauges of the aftermarket varitey, is there much variation in quality?

yes ... get an electronic type .. not the cheap mechanical ones as they rattle and look tacky

ProSport

AutoGauge

are my recomended brands

What else you got dont mate? other than the ECU upgrade? just wondering if its taking into account better breathabilty with intakes, throttlebodies, plenums, manifolds, exhaust, injectors, fuel pump etc?

DTA Motorsport do some good chips.......and as for boost gauges you cant go far wrong with a Greddy or Apexi.Ive had both in analogue versions and much prefer them to electronic ones.

i run a turbonoz chip on my zed with no issues, got horsham developments to fit t, not sure how happy they are to fit other peoples chips but jez horsham is a mate of mine

+1 :)

Good news Steve, I bet the old girl looks 10 times better.

The advice about DTA is true but Dan stopped trading at least a year ago, they do pop up for sale every now and then.

Interesting that Horsham work on Z32's, I spoke to them and they were very reluctant to work on mine, must have been a bad day that I called haha
